In a previous tutorial, I taught you how to install stock firmware on the Samsung Galaxy Tab 7 ″ for later install ClockworkMod Recovery.
Today taking advantage of said tutorial and the recent installation of the modified Recovery, I will take the opportunity to teach you how to install a rom of CyanogenMod 9, which will update us Samsung Galaxy Tab 7 ″ to the latest version of the operating system Google, which is none other than the Ice Cream Sandwich or Android 4.0.4.
The rom chosen for this purpose is known as nightly builds from the CyanogenMod 9 team, a prestigious team of independent developers at Samsung that offer us, thanks to their research and effort, updates that according to their own Samsung are not supported for this specific device.
Absolutely everything works in the rom, moreover, your level of fluidity and stability far exceeds the more advanced version of Gingerbread, this shows that these types of Samsung They are not for the work of giving support to their customers and the only thing they care about is filling their pockets with the sale of new terminals, leaving aside terminals, which even being a little less current are well capable of accepting new updates.
What has surprised me the most about this sensational rom from CyanogenMod 9It is the duration of its battery, and if you do not believe me, look for yourself in the screenshot that I attach with the duration of my own device in average normal use.
Rom installation method
This rom is for the models of the Samsung Galaxy Tab 7 ″Both GSM as CDMA.
If your version is GSM, you must download the rom from the following link, and if your version is CDMA will download it from here.
Then we will download the native Google or Gapps applications from this other link.
Once the two zip files are downloaded, We will copy them without decompressing in the sdcard of our Samsung Galaxy Tab 7 ″ and We will restart in Recovery mode, since it is from him, that we are going to flash this fantastic rom.
Already from recovery mode We will follow these simple steps:
- Wipe data / factory reset
- Wipe cache partition
- Advanced / wipe dalvik cache
- Go back to go back
- Mounts and storage and we format system
- Go back again
- Install zip from sdcard
- Choose zip from internal sdcard
- We navigate to the zip of the rom and confirm its installation
- Choose zip from sdcard and install the Gapps zip
- Wipe cache partition and wipe dalvik cache.
- Reboot system now
If the Tablet restarts itself once the rom is installed, you return to restart in Recovery mode and install the Gapps from step 10.
Now as you can see in the screenshot above we will have the Samsung Galaxy Tab 7 ″ or p-1000, updated to the latest version of Android, 4.0.4 or Ice Cream Sandwich.

If you can enter Download mode, download some original firmware from Sammobile.com and flash it with odin to recover it.

First of all, I would like to thank you for the dedication and patience shown both in the accomplishment and in the help given to those of us who have doubts.
I did the process correctly and it gave me the keyboard and camera error with the cyanogenmod version 10 -20120924-nightly-p1, update to the 10-20120926-nightly-p1 but do not install the Gapps404.
I have been able to verify that everything worked, but when restarting and installing the gapps404 again and doing the three wipes and restarting, it was when I got these errors again.
It seems to me that the latter is the one that needs a couple of tweaks, any alternative?

You have to install the 4.1 gapps for that version of cm10, it gives you an error because you install the 4.0.4 ones

Try to go into Download mode, which sometimes costs a bit, and if you succeed, flash an original rom from Odin.
If you do not succeed, connect the Tab to the pc as you have it now with the computer symbol, and try to update with Kies or recover any backup copy that you have saved.

I have followed all the indications of this entry and the previous related one (https://www.androidsis.com/como-rootear-e-instalar-el-clockworkmod-recovery-en-la-samsung-galaxy-tab-p1000/) and works without noticeable problems on the Galaxy TAB GT-P1000 GSM.
I did not get it the first time and after the relevant tests this was my experience:
1.- The original article is from June 2012 and since then Cyanogen has already updated the rumors so that the link leads to CM10 instead of CM9.
2.- If the CM10 is downloaded, the version of the gapps that is needed is not the one in the link in this article (it says it in one of the comments, but I did not pay much attention). For CM10 they can be found here:

If by mistake or clumsiness, as was my case, you install the gapps version for CM10 on CM9 as soon as you start it up, it will give a keyboard error.
3.- If something like this happens to you, you must repeat all the steps of the two articles, this one and the one for installing the clockworkmodrecovery. I tried several ROMs and gapps without doing it and although the keyboard and the rest of the applications work, it did not recognize the phone's sim card or the wifi until I “flashed” the kernel again.
4.- Following all the steps and selecting the correct version of gapps, everything went smoothly.
5.- There is already a stable version of CM9 that should work, but I have installed the CM10 nightly from October 17, 2012 and as gapps from July 26, 2012.

How's it going? Pz if what you need is to recognize your galxy on the pc. Try this ... Go to control panel, then devices and printers. You locate the samsung device. Right click and properties, then select the second tab and click update driver, it will ask if you want to look for it, automatically give it yes, wait and see, it should work.

I am not an expert and I have managed to make the change to 4.0.4 as seen in the last image.
Only one problem and that is that when I look for available Wi-Fi networks, those of the entire neighborhood appear except for mine.
