In view of the failures that this process has given some users, I have re-uploaded the files and have included some changes in the process, I have personally tested it and it works perfectly.
The process that I am going to show you below, It will help us to root and at the same time install the modified recovery in the Samsung Galaxy Tab, specifically in the model p-1000.
For root and install ClockworkçMod Recovery on this tablet of Samsung, you just have to flash the kernel corresponding to your firmware version, but in order not to get involved in the process, I have decided first to flash a firmware and then root it based on said firmware, in this way I make sure that you will do the process correctly.
Once flashed and with the modified recovery installed we can, for example update to version 4.0.4 Ice Cream Sandwich using a cooked rom.
In another article I will teach you how to install the best rom of the moment for our Samsung Galaxy Tab, which is none other than the Nightly Build CM9, a version modified by the team of Cyanogenmod 9 based on Android 4.0.4.
Previous requirements
The only prerequisite is to have a Galaxy Tab, model P-1000 with access to Download mode, we can check this with the Samsug Galaxy tab off, we will turn it on by pressing the power button plus volume down button, if a screen appears with a yellow symbol, and an android working inside, it is that we have correct access to Download mode.
We must also have Samsung drivers installed correctlyIf you don't know if you have them installed correctly, download them from this link and reinstall them.
Installation method
The first of all will be to download both the firmware and the CF Root or Modified Kernel, the file containing the Clockwork Mod Recovery, we will also need this datadata and the pit file
We must also download the necessary tool for the flashing process of this terminal, and it is none other than odin1.7.
Once all the files have been downloaded We will unzip them in a new folder on the Windows desktop.
If any file asks us for a password, try with samfirmware.com.
We will have something like this:
Now we will run odin 1.7, for this we will place ourselves on top and We will execute it by clicking with the right mouse button and selecting the option execute as an administrator.
We will click on the PDA button and we will search the folder new created on desktop the file .tar corresponding to firmware, then we will click on the PIT option and we will place the downloaded PIT, we will have to check that Re-partition is checked.
Everything must be as I show you in this screenshot:
Now we will turn off the Samsung Galaxy tab and we will turn it on in Download mode, we will connect it by usb to the computer and we will click on the Start button.
While the flashing process lasts, we should not touch anything, do not turn off the computer and do not let it go to sleep or suspend, the process usually lasts around five minutes, it will be finished when odín give us back the word Pass in its upper left.
As soon as you finish installing the firmware, We will re-enter Download mode and we will reconnect it to odín, this time on the button PDA we will select the .tar file that is inside the datadata folder and we will check that Re-Partition is not checked, this time The Re-Partition option should not be selected.
We will click on the Start button and we will wait for the process to finish.
Once finished, from the recovery mode, we will do a Wipe cache and Wipe data / factory reset, then we will restart normally and we will have the version Android 2.3.3.
Now once it reboots, We will only have to install the modified Kernel with the ClockworkMod recovery, for it we will run the odin again and we will click on the PDA button, only this time we will select the TAR that haty inside the CFRoot folder.
It is very important that you verify that the option Re-partition is not checked this time, REPITO, the option Re-partition should not be checked.
We reconnect the device in USB Download mode to the computer and click on the Start button, this time the process will take less than a minute.
Now we have the Samsung Galaxy Tab or p1000 with Android 2.3.3, with the Modified recovery, rooted and ready to flash cooked roms.

1.- Currently my tablet has the operating system 2.2 and I think the first step is to change it to 2.3 and then install new operating systems until reaching 5, however I have read that depending on the firmware that installs the tablet I can get stuck at 2.3 with no possibility of doing anything later.
2.- To follow the instructions to the letter I have tried to download the file «Firmware JQ1» being impossible since the download is not available.
I would appreciate the possibility of downloading this file as well as all the possible support to carry out my intentions.
