Huawei P40 cameras

Manufacturers have been spending a lot of time designing where the front camera of the phones goes, highlighting the notch design and the screen hole. Usually occupies part of the panel margin being a space dedicated to taking the best pictures with the sensor known as selfie.

EMUI, custom layer of Huawei and Honor phones, it is possible to hide the screen notch or hole to remove it if it bothers you for any reason. In some cases it is only one lens that appears, if using a phone like Huawei P40 Pro there will be two sensors included.

You can create a digital frame on top to cover the notch, what it does is hide it, but it will be operative if you activate the camera. In ours we have it active despite the fact that it occupies two small bays, but it can be supplanted by a black mat.

How to hide the screen notch or hole in EMUI

Hide front sensor

EMUI on Huawei and Honor has many functions, among them are that of limit the time you use your mobile, activate the always-on display mode, lock apps with password and much more. The filling of the hole in the front camera with a black part is done as follows:

  • Access the Settings of your Huawei / Honor phone
  • Click in the option «Screen and brightness»
  • On Screen and brightness click on "More screen settings"
  • Now search for «Notch» and click on it to access its options
  • Now you will see two selectable options, the "Default mode" that will show the notch space or the drilled holes or the one to hide the notch

Once you activate it, it will show you in that part a small, not very large thickness generated above and covering the area where you have the camera sensor or sensors placed. In our place it covers a total of two for being the Huawei P40 Pro and is located in the upper left.

In an aesthetic way it looks quite good, you can continue using the camera regularly by not disabling it, it only covers it for aesthetics and to take advantage of the area. In the case of the notch the line is not too thick, showing all the notifications in a correct way, while if you have more than one equal pass, the use of the screen is enough.
