From what we can know WhatsApp would be working on the encryption of Google Drive and iCloud backups. Curious that while the chats are encrypted end-to-end or end-to-end, the copies remain without that encryption.
So WhatsApp would be working on it in order to solve this serious security problem, which would be added to everything that happened with updated privacy-related guidelines of the messaging app.
