Umeox Apollo, the first Android smartphone that works with solar energy

The Mobile World Congress has kicked off today. And this year he is not going to disappoint anyone. We have already shown you some of the pearls that have been presented at the most important mobile telephony event. But now we are going to leave aside giants like Samsung and we are going to talk to you aboutl Umeox Apollo, a smartphone that works with solar energy.

This particular mobile phone has been developed by Umeox Mobile, a China-based manufacturer, in collaboration with Intivation, a Dutch company specialized in the development of micro solar panels.

As you may have seen in the image, on the back casing of the Umeox Apollo there is a series of de smart solar panels that work even in low light conditions which allows, with a charge of 2 hours, a total of 17 hours of duration.

We have less information about its specifications; we know you have a screen resistive touch 3.2-inch HVGA resolutionIna 3 megapixel camera, 512 MB of RAM and 1GB of internal memory. evidently will run with Android although we do not know which version of our preferred operating system the terminal will incorporate.

So far the mobiles manufactured by Umeox have not left China so we do not know if it will reach the western market. I don't have much faith in this device anyway. To begin with, I find it somewhat uncomfortable to have to recharge the Umeox Apollo for 2 hours a day. I highly doubt that it charges when it is in your pocket. And that's another, the happy pocket. How much friction can the solar panels withstand? And falls? because I am a savage and my mobiles have to be prepared for the greatest torture.

We will have to get more information about the device, and see if it reaches our country, but at least we must recognize the merit of being the first Android terminal that works using solar energy.

I consider that the solar panel is useful when you are in a remote place where there is no conventional power, or if you run out of battery and need to use the cell phone for emergency.
I suppose this cell phone has a conventional charger so there is no need to worry.
The idea is great for those who know how to value the use of solar energy.
