In the following practical tutorial I am going to teach you how to update the Samsung Galaxy Tab 7 model P1000, to the latest version of A through Rom cooked from C which by the way works wonderfully in this terminal model.
This unofficial update is for the first Galaxy Tab seven inch that Samsung launched on the market and that a long time ago was left without official support and therefore without official updates since 2.3 Android Gingerbread.
The only thing of consideration that does not work in this Rom based entirely on C is camera recording, tv out and Flash. Otherwise everything is going perfectly, giving a new life to our Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.
Essential Requirements
It is essential to have the model P1000 for the Samsung Galaxy Tab 7 which must also be Rooted and with the CWM Rwcovery installed. It will also be necessary to make a backup EFS folder or with a Android Backup of our entire system in case something fails or we make it wrong to be able to recover it to the state immediately before the flashing attempt.
The latest available version of the ClockworkMod Recovery so that the flashing of Kit Kat finished successfully and come from a Rom Cyanogenmod version 10.2.
It may work from CyanogenMod 10 or 10.1 although I cannot assure you of the success of the flashing, so I can assure you that if you try to flash it from Gingerbread you will have an error in the process.
Required files
We will have to download three compressed ZIP files that we will have to copy without decompressing in the internal memory of the Samsung Galaxy Tab 7:
- USB Kernel CM11
- CM11 Android 4.4 Kit Kat for P1000
- Google Gapps.
El Kernel and Rome They are on the same download page, you have to download the last one Kernel and the latest version of Rom which are the ones that are further down the line.
Once the three files have been downloaded and copied to the root of the internal memory, we restart in Recovery mode and proceed with the Rom flashing method.
Rom installation method
- Wipe data factory and reset
- Wipe cache partition
- Advanced / wipe dalvik cache
- Go Back
- Mounts and storage and we format cache, data, boot and System.
- Go back
- Install zip from sdcard
- choose zip
- We flash the kernel zip
- Install zip from sdcard
- choose zip
- We flash the zip of the rom
- Install zip from sdccard
- choose zip
- We flash the Google Gapps zip
- Reboot system now
If when you restart you will restart again in the CWM Recovery you must enter the option backup and restore / advanced restore and select the option of Restore data. With this you should restart correctly and without problems.
