The phone was launched with the Android 8.1 Oreo operating system under MIUI 9.6 and it is now one of the first phones from the brand to receive the update to Android 9 Pie along with MIUI 10. Now, the team of XDA Developers has discovered the first global beta version of MIUI 10 with Android 9 Pie for the Pocophone F1. Xiaomi has not yet confirmed the arrival of this beta version, but clearly that's it.
As you can see in the image above, The Xiaomi Pocophone F1 runs Android 9 and MIUI 10 Global 8.10.30 beta. It also includes the respective Android security patch for the month of October, in which certain functions are stabilized and some minor bugs are corrected. How to install Android 9.0 Pie beta under MIUI 10 on Pocophone F1
The new ROM can be install via MIUI Updater app. To do so, one needs to download the ROM from this link and then create a new folder named download_rom in Poco F1. Then the downloaded ROM should be transferred to the created folder and then back up the important files and folders on the device.
To install the beta version of MIUI 10 based on Android 9 Pie, users of the Poco F1 have to navigate to Configuration > About of the phone > Upgrade system > Choose upgrade package and then go to the folder where the MIUI 10 update file is located and then select it. The MIUI 10 update process will continue on its own and may take around 30 minutes to install, so you have to have the terminal well loaded.
The Chinese manufacturer has promised that The Poco F1 will be blessed with the Android Q update in 2019. Additionally, the phone is expected to receive an update soon providing Widevine L1 support for HD streaming content from Netflix and Amazon Prime videos.
