How to install Heimdall on Linux

Heimdall, is a free program Open Source available to all OS, with which we can flash a lot of terminals from Samsung's Galaxy family.

In the following tutorial I am going to teach Linux users, specifically Ubuntu users, how to install this sensational flashing program alternative to odin and thus not have to depend on Windows.

What do we need?

We will need a computer with a distro de Linux based on Ubuntu o Debian.

First it is advisable both to update the repository packages with the command sudo apt-get update, how to update programs with sudo apt.get upgrade.

Once this is done we can go to the program installation.

Installing Heimdall

To install Heimdall it is only necessary enter the official page and download two .deb files.

Heimdall Official Website

Once we have them, we will install them by accessing the Downloads folder using the command cd Downloads, then we will execute the installation using the command sudo dpkg -i and the name of each file .deb.

sudo dpkg -i

Once this is done with the two files we will type heimdall-frontend to execute Heimdall.

Thank you very much for the tutorial. It's fine, but I see a big downside: I follow all the steps and it works very well, the problem is that when I start using the program, it doesn't detect my phone, so I try to follow the steps in the video and… Oh! surprise, it is a tutorial for a Linux environment but a program appears (zadig.exe) that works in Windows. I think if a tutorial is offered for a Linux environment, all the steps should be applicable in that environment. If you know of any alternative for Heimdall to recognize my smartphone in a Linux environment, I would really appreciate it.
