Huawei will launch two new smartphones without Wear OS

Huawei Watch GT

The divorce between Google and many smartwatch manufacturers is something that no one doubts today. The first to move from Wear OS (Android Wear at the time) was Samsung when I launched the first generation of the Samsung Gear, Gear Fit and others, since this manufacturer directly bet its Tizen, an operating system that it owns.

This allowed Samsung offer everything you wanted to offer in your smartwatches without having to depend on the limitations that Google imposed on manufacturers by preventing them from adding a layer of personalization to their wrist devices. The last manufacturer that still does not bet on Wear OS is Huawei, who did in the past.

Given the impossibility of customizing the copy of Wear OS that manufacturers implement in their smart watches, they have forced some manufacturers like Huawei have decided completely abandon the platform to adopt your own operating systemAt least that is what emerges from the latest rumor related to the two new models that the Asian company plans to launch on the market.

Last year Huawei presented the Watch GT, a smartwatch managed by Lite OS, its own operating system that also it will become the software that will be managed by the next two models that the company plans to launch throughout the year. These two models are variants of the Watch GT and are called Watch GT Active and Watch GT Elegant.

Both models offer us a 1,39 inch screen, just like the original model, but with slight differences in the crown. At the moment there are no more details about the components that we will find inside.

What does seem to have been leaked are the prices. The Watch GT Active will be available for 249 euros, while the Watch GT Elegant will do so for 229 euros.. The original Huawei Watch GT hit the market for 199 euros, so it is likely that the price difference is based on aesthetic elements, not components.
