We return to Actualidad Gadget with invite, a brand of robot vacuum cleaners that has been taking over at Amazon lately due to its tight quality-price ratio. Little by little it is being seen in Spain thanks to the evaluations harvested both in Amazon and AliExpress, so it could not be missing in our analysis table.
We analyze the new Yeedi 2 Hybrid robot vacuum and tell you what our experience has been with this complete device to keep your home clean. Discover with us all its advantages and of course also the disadvantages. Don't miss this new in-depth review.
First of all we remind you that you can buy this Yeedi 2 Hybrid from 299,99 euros on Amazon, so if you already know it, it is a good option through the well-known store to make the most of its guarantee.
Design and materials
This Yeedi 2 Hybrid inherits the classic design of this type of device with few novelties. The device is made of matt plastic for its upper part, where we will find its "power" button with LED indicator, the camera that will be in charge of mapping the cleaning area and that crowns the device.
- Size: 34,5x7,5 inch
- Weight: 5,3 Kg
In the lower part there is a double rotating brush, the central mixed brush also rotating and the two lifting wheels. Rear part for the water tank, while the dirt tank is housed in the upper part behind the lid, as in Roborock devices. The charging base is also correctly manufactured, it has a charging cable that is hidden inside, something that is appreciated to make the most of the space that remains between the charging base and the wall.
Technical characteristics and suction
We have a widely developed device, it lacks practically nothing, surprising considering the price range. Regarding the suction power we have a maximum of 2.500 pascals, yes, they will be modified depending on the three power levels that are available that we can handle depending on the settings.
On top the Visual-SLAM camera is located, while in the lower part we have level and distance sensors that help the robot to navigate around the house more efficiently.
- Battery 5200 mAh for 200 minutes of use (at medium power)
The capacity of the waste tank is 430 ml, while the water tank will be 240 ml. At the connectivity level we have WiFi, but we can only connect to 2,4 GHz networks due to its wide distances, as is usually the case in this type of device.
In the meantime, if you have already got down to business with the device, we recommend that you take a look at the instruction manual (available in multiple languages here). However, on a technical level its handling is quite intuitive.
Configuration and application
Regarding the configuration we have the Yeedi application that has surprised us by its good design and has irremediably reminded us of the Roborock application, a good point of reference to be honest.
The application will allow us to easily synchronize the robot with the following steps:
- We log in if we want
- Click on "add a robot"
- We enter the WiFi network and its password
- We wait for the configuration to finish
The process is simplified with the unit’s QR code under the top cover. This Yeedi application is quite simple, we can follow the cleaning of the map in real time as well as specify the cleaning of only certain rooms, restrict the areas or completely clean the house. As expected, on the map we can assign roles to the rooms.
For his part, yes we miss the option to configure the suction intensity for each room, although it does have a suction power selector that can be varied during cleaning.
Regarding noise we have between 45 dB and 55 dB depending on the suction power, something that is within the standards. Finally, we highlight full compatibility with Amazon's Alexa to tell you to start vacuuming, the same happens with Google Assistant. In our tests the voice assistant works correctly. If it has convinced you, Remember that you can buy it on Amazon for less than 300 euros.
In addition, the device It has a speaker that will act as a status indicator both when it starts and when it ends, of course you have a call for help when you get "stranded."
Sweeping, vacuuming and mopping
As for scrubbing, we have a series of disposable mops that can be purchased on Amazon through the same purchase method as the device and that we will include in the water tank for better dry results, as well as the classic scrubbing mop where once again we do not obtain particularly noteworthy results. We advise trying to scrub test areas first and it is that in areas with ceramic floors the maximum level of water can create water marks. This type of water flow is not recommended for the durability of a parquet or parquet floor, which is why we have always opted for the option of minimum water flow.
As for the vacuum, a more than enough power with its passes, although it is that in a house of approximately 70m2 it has taken a little more time (approximately 45 minutes) than its higher priced rivals, it has done so because it affects areas where it has already happened, something that allows it its autonomy and ensures a good sweep.
Editor's opinion
This Yeedi Hybrid 2 has offered us a "premium" experience below 300 euros and that has surprised us. At the suction level we have good results, comparable to products with a higher price and range both in terms of suction and autonomy. The same happens with the application that drinks directly from Roborock's, one of the most accurate on the market. The end result benefits from all these sections and makes it an advisable product in the mid-range.
In the same way we say that the scrubbing function is as unattractive as in the rest of products of these characteristics, they continue to offer an alternative to moisten the floor that does not convince me and I choose to deactivate. Although the performance of the camera has left me a bittersweet taste, somewhat inferior to the mapping by LiDAR, in the same way that it only allows us to save a map. If you liked it, you can buy it from 299,99 euros on Amazon.
