A voice announcing who is calling you, is it happening to you?

android sounds

Surely less often than desired we are lucky enough to renew our smartphone. When we acquire a new terminal there are several adjustments we make. So that everything is to our liking, we customize the configuration of our phones to the maximum. Wallpapers, sound, email accounts, applications. But sometimes a small detail can bring us upside down.

Some adjustments of a new smartphone can undermine our patience.

Although all the smartphones that we like use Android we can find "problems" when we change. The versions of the operating system of a phone can play tricks on us. Even the layers of customization of certain manufacturers can make it difficult for us to access any option.

Specifically, we want to talk to you about that robotic voice that announces the name of the contact that calls us. In the middle of the ringing melody, repeat the name over and over again. And this is something that if we have not consciously activated it can be very annoying. Much more when we are working or simply do not want anyone to know who we are talking to. And this option, although it is easy to deactivate, sometimes we cannot find the right place.

There are many users who through forums ask for help to solve this annoying problem. As a general rule When we want to modify something related to the sound, we access the configuration of -sound and vibration-. Or if we consider that the adjustment we want to make is related to incoming calls we access the menu for it. But in neither of these two we will find the option to deactivate the caller's name.

Don't worry, we'll explain once and for all how to deactivate it. We must look for this option in the following way. Settings> System and Device> Additional Settings> Accessibility. Once inside the Accessibility menu we must turn off the TalkBack option. This option is intended for blind or visually impaired users. This way they can always know who is on the other end of the phone. And thus to be able to decide whether to pick up or not.

A veces when we do not find an adjustment that seems so simple we lose patience. If we change to a phone with a different version of the operating system, the task becomes complicated. But although Android is not perfect, it has almost everything under control. Do you have a configuration problem?. Can't find the desired setting? Do you want to modify something and you can't? In Androidsis We are here to help you. Do not hesitate to ask and we will do everything possible to solve your doubts.

Hello, thanks for the information, very useful hehe .. The "problem" that I have since I bought my Xiaomi Redmi Note 4, is that I cannot deactivate the annoying spell checker, it does not change the words but if it highlights them in red and the options it gives have nothing to do with what I'm writing about. I have Android 6.0, SwiftKey keyboard and I deactivate the Gboard… I don't know where else to check haha .. Although I managed to deactivate it in almost all the sites, but it continues to bother WhatsApp and some forums… Thank you!

Hello Mercedes, delighted that our posts are helpful. I would try a couple of things. First uninstall the SwiftKey that comes pre-installed as standard on your Xiaomi. And then install the latest version from the Play Store. Once SwiftKey is re-installed, in the menu: SwiftKey> Writing> Writing and AutoCorrect> AutoCorrect. Once here, deactivate the auto-correction option. I hope it helps to solve your "problem." Thanks a lot. Greetings.

    Hey.
I request your help. I installed Talkback and my cell Lg G2 mini digue announcing the incoming call with that Spanish female voice from Spain. In the accessibility menu, it cannot be marked if it is in a light color and without any «switch» to touch. And right there it says that it is uninstalled. How do I cancel this Spanish speaking? ???

Hello, when I use the car hands-free (bluetooth) or the minis headphones with a jack, I get that robotic voice that announces the name of the contact that calls us. I have looked at the TalkBack option and I already had it disconnected, therefore it has to be something else different. In my case, it only comes out using the hands-free, ¿? Does anyone know what could this be?
    Heck thanks,

In my case, I don't have talk back activated and my voice keeps coming out on incoming calls... I don't know how to remove it... Any ideas?

Hi Javier, if the voice appears before receiving the call, you should review the options, in this case if it is not Talback, you could see if restoring the system solves it, it is very tedious.
