VLC has turned of his own accord into the swiss army knife to play all kinds of video and audio formats since it was released in that beta so that at the end we had it in a full version not long ago. The beta is still open and from the same is updated with news very interesting that put us before features to highlight, as with the last one.
The VLC app for Android has been updated so you can explore your files on your local network, although with a detail that distances it from this functionality that we had in part. Since, in this new update for the beta, it allows you to explore the folders on the shared devices through that local network. Mention that previously you could only do this if you had a direct link to the file.
VLC is a great demonstration of what great software is in itself. If it has already made the grade on PCs, on Android it is showing that the development team behind it is the best that can be found. Ok, we are not facing the app with the best interface on the planet, but it has enormous potential to throw whatever one wants on top of it, be it the video or audio format.
The update that allows us to explore folders on shared computers, offers file exploration over UPnP, NFS, FTP, SFTP, SMB, Windows Shares and a few more protocols. The beta is available to testers of the VLC beta app to which you can access from this link to become a test and download the app from the link provided.
Apart from file browsing, users can also choose between change the normal Android interface to that of Android TV.
