There have been many rumors about the possible purchase of the American part of TikTok by Microsoft, Twitter and Oracle, the latter being the one that announced an agreement to monitor the data managed by TikTok U.S..
However, it seems that it is not enough for the Donald Trump administration and the United States Department of Commerce that the TikTok application, in addition to WeChat, already They will not be available for download after September 20, today, so they will disappear from both the Google Play Store and the Apple App Store.
Despite the announcement of the agreement between Oracle and ByteDance days ago, according to Bloomberg, the agreement was not to Trump's liking as it was not enough to guarantee national security and protect Americans from threats from the Chinese Communist Party.
The document published by the United States Department of Commerce announcing the prohibition of TikTok and WeChat, not only affects the distribution of the applications through stores, but also to the code, updates and payments associated with the latter, measures that will enter into force on November 12.
All these movements of the White House are aimed at not leaving any loophole that allow access to both apps. TikTok, with more than 100 million users in the United States, and 19 million in the case of WeChat, this measure only affects the United States, so the application continues to be available in other countries as before.
Just over a month ago, the country with the highest number of TikTok users, India, also removed the app both from the App Store and the Play Store, giving China the same medicine to try that it applies in its own country with applications that "do not exceed its standards."
