The Pixel 3 XL and its concealable notch

A few hours ago we were able to officially meet the new models of the acclaimed Google smartphones. The Google Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL are now a reality. And soon we will be able to buy them, this time yes, from Europe. Like its predecessor, the new Pixel stands out for offering power and quality on all four sides.

One of the initial unknowns with which it was considered with the first leaks of this new smartphone was if Google would be carried away by the controversial fashion of the "notch". Finally, and practically all the predictions being fulfilled, the largest of the Pixel 3, the XL, has a large notch at its top.

If we hide the notch, we give up part of its screen

It already happened when the previous iPhone X model hit the market. The notch had sfollowers and detractors, as it happens with every novelty that appears. At first it was weird, and even uncomfortable for users. As an example, in the hole where the icon to control the battery charge level was located, the percentage numbers did not fit. However we have gotten used to to find us with the notch, with known exceptions, in practically all the new models of each of the firms. We will not enter into the debate as to whether it is better or worse to have it or not. Nothing new really since there are applications that can do it on any device that has the "eyebrow". But we wonder What is the point of buying a smartphone with a notch to hide it? Assuming this also loss of useful centimeters from the screen.
