In recent years, we have seen how the Korean company Samsung launches with each new generation of devices in the Galaxy S range, a series of functions, functions that soon after arrive in the form of updates to the terminals of the previous year, functions that generally do not present any limitation via hardware.
The Galaxy S9 has begun to receive a new software update in which a new selfie function is added that allows us to reduce the field of vision when taking selfies by default. So far, the field of view of the front camera on the S9 and S9 + is 80 degrees. After installing the new update this drops to 68 degrees.
By reducing the field of view to 68 degrees, when we take a selfie, the result is much more satisfactory than if we do it with a greater angle of vision, since we will avoid leaving too much space on both sides.
By default, the front camera's field of view is now 68 degrees, however, if we want to take a selfie of a group, from the camera interface itself, we can extend it up to 80 degrees, the default mode offered to us since the S9 and S9 + hit the market.
This update carries the firmware number G960FXXU2CSC8 y G965FXXU2CSC8 for the Samsung Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9 + respectively. This update not only offers us functional improvements in the front camera, but also integrates stability improvements in the Wi-Fi connection, improvements in the messaging and contacts application and in the video editor.
As expected, it also offers us the security patch for the month of March. This update has already begun to be available in Germany, so it is a matter of hours before it reaches the rest of European countries and later on it to the whole world. If you do not want to wait for the update, you can visit the SamMobile website and download the update to install it manually on your S9 or S9 +.
