Crescent Moon Games is another of the most prolific studios that exist at the moment and that are dedicated to publishing games of many others looking for a way to gain a foothold in this difficult industry of mobile video games. This happens with the new Goomsters, a indie video game studio found in Valencia and that they have shown their good work in a new title published by the hand of Crescent. The truth is that it is not so easy to find games that mix certain mechanics and more than two games that everyone will know.
Mario and Flappy Bird come together in the creation of this game made by Spanish minds and that lead us to Elvin: The water Sphere. A title that, as I said, has those two special protagonists who have served to inspire these Spanish developers. In a devilish platform in which we must know how to hit each of the jumps to bounce on each of those enemies. It is one of those games in which the error will help us to advance through all those levels, which, by the way, are quite a few.
The retro in the jumps
If I mention that it looks like Flappy Bird it is because the moment we collide with one of the platforms we will have to start over and the reference to Mario from Nintendo is for the jumps on the different enemies to eliminate us. We also find similarities in those rounded shapes of the backgrounds and the different elements that make up Elvin's decoration: The water sphere.
That combination brings us to a very curious and special gameplay that gets us hooked. What inspires me the most to continue playing it is that you begin to remember the different jumps that you have to hit in each place to be able to get out of all those tricks that you will face. The jump mechanics is simple to have a short press for a short one or a long one for a higher impulse. Here we must know how to choose where we are interested in a long or a short one.
The jumping elf
The story leads us to retrieve the water sphere before its power runs out and we can never take the rain back to the forest. Elfrod is the goblin enemy who will try to prevent us from achieving our goal, so the story puts us before the adventures of a very disparate elf in which jumping will be one of his greatest powers.
You have 10 fantastic worlds that await you to explore them and in which the mechanics of knowing how to choose the precise moment to remember it is also one of its greatest virtues.
Also, as in other similar games, you can share your records through Facebook to snack on your friends. You have it for free from the Play Store with the micropayments that are already common in this type of video game with a freemium model.
Technical quality
Elvin: The water sphere in your league has great powers to position itself as a special platform. Those memories of certain mechanics from other games such as the aforementioned Mario or Flappy Bird manage to bring a certain nostalgia to add quality to their set. In its graphics there is also a visual dynamism and rounded shapes in the most Nintendo style.
Their levels, backgrounds and character design like that of the enemies it also rubs great quality. Retro music and effects go hand in hand to go directly to a good platform with which to play some very good games to discover those 10 worlds that each have their peculiarities and their wise well-selected color palettes. A video game with good craftsmanship and with that detail that provides that the developers knew what they were doing at all times.
