Huawei will bet on the internet of things for its devices

Huawei A few very interesting new features were brought to this latest edition of the MWC. I'm talking about the new Huawei P10 and P10 Plus, in addition to its smart watch, the Huawei Watch 2.

We have already given you our first impressions after testing all Huawei solutions at the Mobile World Congress 2017, now we bring you an interview in which Juan Cabrera, Product Manager at Huawei Spain, tells us about all these launches and the Huawei's commitment to the Internet of Things.

Huawei will bet on the Internet of Things

During the presentation of Huawei within the framework of the fair, I expected the manufacturer to talk about virtual reality. Last year they presented their own virtual reality glasses, a device that has not left Asian territory and about which we know rather little, so seeing how this technology is evolving, the possibility that Huawei bet this year on VR glasses reaching the European market was feasible.

In the end it has not been like that, but Juan Cabrera makes several things clear to us: on the one hand we have the Huawei P10 Plus, a phone with a 2K screen so it is a very interesting solution to enjoy VR content. But Huawei's intention is to focus on the internet of things. For those of you who don't know what it is, tell you what It consists of providing different devices with the ability to provide information to users.

In this manner when we close the door of our house we will be able to receive a notification on our smartwatch, or that the garden sprinklers are deactivated when a nearby animal or person is detected and that we can activate it remotely.

I find the topic of the Internet of Things very interesting and the fact that Huawei is working on optimizing its devices and, why not, launching its own solutions as Google has recently done with its Nest, is great news.

Leica will continue to be present in future devices of the company

Another topic we talked about was the alliance between Leica and Huawei. The Asian manufacturer surprised during the launch of the Huawei P9 by showing a phone with a double optics signed by Leica.

With this move Huawei stood out from Sony, the largest provider of cameras for smartphones on the market, to bet on Leica. A move that could simply be a marketing campaign to show a phone that differentiates itself from the company. But seeing that the Mate 9 and the recently introduced P10 and P10 Plus still have Leica cameras, it is clear that the alliance is very strong.

And this is another great news. It is a fact that the Huawei P9 camera set the trend and more and more manufacturers are betting on this double camera system. Seeing that both Leica and Huawei will continue to present models with this type of camera, it opens up a future range of terminals from other brands that can use the same lenses. And we have already seen that the results achieved are really good.

Reserve a Huawei P10 before March 15 and they will give you a Huawei Watch 2

Finally, we have the incredible offer of the manufacturer: If you book a Huawei P10 before March 15, you get a Huawei Watch 2 as a gift. Taking into account that the watch will cost 329 euros, it is an offer to take into account and that has a clear objective: to steal sales from LG and its LG G6 while waiting for the arrival of the Samsung Galaxy S8.

Huawei has done its job at MWC 2017 presenting a series of very interesting devices that can rival without a doubt with their competitors and also, as usual in the manufacturer, they launch an unbeatable offer to anticipate and sell as many units as possible.

Last year they did not dare to present the Huawei P9 at an event where Samsung was always the main protagonist. But this year the absence of its main competitor has created the ideal framework for Huawei to snatch the first position in terms of sales worldwide from Samsung. It has already achieved it in Spain.
