Qualcomm Senior Director of Product Management Judd Heape released a new interview to Android Authority in which he explained the major upcoming implementations of future Snapdragon chipsets.

According to Judd, the upcoming Snapdragon 865, which will be the San Diego-based giant's next flagship-grade SoC, will support the Qualcomm HDR10 + standard. More details below.

In case you don't know, the HDR10 standard was initially produced by Samsung and Amazon in 2017. After that, Samsung developed the HDR10 + for better image reproduction.

Now Qualcomm is working on its own version of HDR10 +, which will debut its next flagship chipset. Judd Heape referred to the new processor by calling it the Snapdragon 865, but did not confirm that that is the final name of the chipset. It is the natural successor of the Snapdragon 855, but its name may still be subject to change.

Note that the Snapdragon 855 already supports HDR10 +But from Samsung and not from the technology Qualcomm is currently developing. The new standard from the San Diego giant is likely to compete with Samsung's.

On the other hand, Judd Heape also talked about supporting the camera resolutions of his existing Snapdragon chipsets in the same interview. (here the related article). Qualcomm recently updated the spec sheet for several existing Snapdragon chipsets by adding the support for cameras up to 192 megapixels.

Judd explained that this entry in the spec sheets was not added before because the highest resolution mode does not support 30fps and 60fps, as well as zero shutter lag and multi-frame noise reduction technology (aka ZSL ). But, as various manufacturers began to equip their devices with sensors with higher resolutions, the company decided to inform users, manufacturers and developers about the support for cameras with higher resolutions.
