Discord begins Android screen sharing tests

Screen sharing on Discord

In September we learned that Discord planned to start screen sharing tests on Android devices. And even on some PCs with Windows 10 you can find such a possibility so that our colleagues can see our games.

It is now when we have available for beta version of Discord for Android users who want to benefit from this great feature to share games from our devices.

La Messaging app par excellence for gamingAlthough it can be used for other things or tasks, in its version 48.2 or higher it already allows us to use the screen sharing functionality so that others can see what happens on our screen; especially with those games.

This new function appears in the bottom toolbar with a fair icon in Discord's audio calling interface. By clicking on the icon, the message will appear announcing the arrival of this new functionality that allows us to share our screen with our colleagues.

We have a confirmation dialog before starting the capture on the screen to warn that sensitive data may be being shared. We just have to click on "Start now" and the screen recording will begin to share it directly with our contacts.

In the interface we can find a button to switch between voice and video calls, another to stop screen sharing and another to mute the microphone. Finally we have available the button to stop the call. Another possibility we have is to change the output of the audio source under those 4 buttons.

Now we can only wait for this new feature hits the final version of Discord in order to share the screen and be able to stream to other players. No miss these tricks y tips for a better Discord experience.
