How do I install it?
To install it we will need to flash it from our PC with Windows through Odin.
Remember that we must have correctly installed the Samsung drivers on our personal computer, if you have Choose installed and you have connected the Samsung Galaxy S3 to the computer sometime, you will already have them properly installed. It is essential to carry out a backup EFS folder since sometimes at flash our device may lose this important folder that contains data as important as the IMEI from our terminal. This folder must be saved on the external card of our Samsung Galaxy S3 and highly recommended on the personal computer or some type of storage outside the phone.
Installation method
The first thing will be to download this compressed file in ZIP format that contains everything necessary to carry out the flashing process and the tutorial explained here. The file contains the original firmware Samsung, the PIT file to re-partition the terminal and the program Odin 3.04.
Once the compressed file is downloaded, we unzip it anywhere in our Windows and we execute the file with administrator permissions odin.exe.
Now from Odin click on the following buttons and place the files as I explain below:
Keep in mind that when we mark re-partition we will format and reassign all partitions, deleting all the contents of the terminal !!.

Now we turn off the Samsung Galaxy S3 model GT-I9300 and we turn it back on Download Mode using the key combination Volume down + Home + Power, then on the warning screen press Volume up.
Now we will only have to connect them to PC and click on the Button Home from the screen of Odin and wait for the process to finish and Odin returns the PASS.
Remember to have the USB debugging enabled from the settings of the S3 as well as the fully charged battery.
This process It can be very dangerous if you do not do the steps as we have shown them here, so if you decide to follow the tutorial to leave your S3 clean of dust and straw, you will be the only one responsible and owner of the consequences of your decisions.
If when you start the system it gives you some kind of error and you will be left on the Recovery screen, you must select from the Recovery itself the option to Wipe data factory reset and of Wipe cache, in this way it will start you perfectly.
If the problems continued, it would be necessary restore with an emergency firmware like this and then restore the EFS folder since we will surely lose it in the process of waking up the mobile.
With these original firmware Samsung we will lose the permissions Root and it will go to state of UnRoot, in addition to repartitioning the entire terminal and leaving it clean just like the day you released it.

In my case, I had a problem during an update via OTA and my phone (GT-I9300) did not start. I tried to install a stock rom using odin and got it to work, but I lost my imei and therefore had no signal. I took it to a store in Barcelona and they restored it but installing version 4.1.2 with baseband I9300CEEMG2 and build number JZ054K.I9300XXELLC.
I tried to update via odin to a higher version and it ran out of signal again, so I took it back to the store and they fixed it again by putting the same version indicated before.
Looking at other forums, it seems that the problem is that with the downgrade, the format of my efs folder has been damaged and what they put me is a patched version of the modem that is capable of reading the information ( http://www.htcmania.com/showthread.php?t=677903 ) and that from now on I am doomed to use patched versions.
I wonder if this procedure that you indicate could be useful for my situation.
