In-depth camera test

We start with the camera, this part of the Galaxy S20 is always one of the ones that generates the most interest, and that is that Samsung always remains at the forefront in terms of photographic issues. On this occasion we find differences with its older brothers, but even so it mounts three sensors in the rear capable of a lot. As for daytime photography, we find a lot of quality and definition, especially in 64MP shots that generate a huge amount of information. This is where the Wide Angle mode and the Hybrid Zoom x3 mode shines the most, since as soon as the light goes out they begin to show a little noise. We have well-defined tones, typical Samsung saturation and very good definition.

The application moves very smoothly, we did not find problems in it. What perhaps surprises us a bit is the result in the image in "Night Mode" freehand, although the indoor shots have also offered a great result, lThe shot in "Night Mode" has left me a bittersweet taste, I expected better results from a brand that champions this type of photography like Samsung. In addition, it is when the 12MP sensors begin to show a significant amount of noise, however, the result is at the height of a high range.

At the time of recording we remember that we can opt for the 8K (600 MB for every minute), although in the tests we have chosen the mode that is predefined in the camera, the recording in Full HD. Also because the 8K we were not going to be able to process well in the video-analysis and it only reaches 24 FPS. The 10MP front camera also offers two modes, an Angular and a Standard, taking some good selfies, well defined and without excessive beauty mode. The front camera has given us a quality result despite not having an excessive amount of Mpx.

Generally speaking, the camera has given a good result in most cases, although it especially shines in good light conditions. It has offered a satisfactory result, but perhaps we expected something more considering the price of the terminal.

The multimedia section: A luxury

We start with the screen, where we have to mention that you cannot opt for the maximum QHD + resolution and the maximum refresh rate at 120Hz, you are going to have to choose between one or the other, and that is something that I have not finished liking. But all the displeasure is there, a very high quality Dynamic AMOLED panel, with very pure blacks, a fantastic contrast and a brightness more than enough to use it outdoors. This shines especially when it comes to enjoying video games or consuming multimedia content, since we remember that it is compatible with Samsung's HDR10 + technology, so the contrasts in series or movies from compatible platforms are especially good.

The same goes for the sound, we found a fantastic quality, even though the top speaker is under the screen. It offers good results even at high levels of volume, and this seems to me, together with the screen, the strongest point.

Autonomy and user experience

The device It has a 4.000 mAh battery capable of offering a fast 25W cable charge and a wireless fast charge of up to 15W. The result of the load is satisfactory, as it is sufficient for the common user. However, the battery does not shine for its special duration, although it should support a day of standard mixed use, I have not managed to get more than an average of 4,5 hours of screen, sometimes around 6 hours.

This time we have the in-display fingerprint sensor which continues to offer standard security but an animation that to my liking is excessively long and that I think, Samsung could polish. While what I liked the most is the quality of the multimedia section and the design, I have to say that the autonomy seems completely insufficient and that the power is what can be expected from a device of this price.

Pros

  • The materials and the design of the terminal are very successful
  • The multimedia section and the screen are among the best on the market
  • A processor and power together with a totally "top" connectivity

Cons

  • The autonomy is quite fair
  • I expected something more from the camera

Definitely the Samsung Galaxy S20 5G shows itself as an important entry-level alternative in the high-end range, although it looks down on its two older brothers the Galaxy S20 Pro and the Galaxy S20 Ultra, which for the price difference could seem quite tempting. The unit provided by Samsung it has a cost of 1009 euros in store, and that's it you can get it in your trusted stores or through THIS Amazon LINK.
