The requirements to meet If we are going to install it from scratch, they are the same as always:

If we are going to update from a earlier version with starting with a charged battery 100 × 100 and enabled USB debugging will be more than enough.

Required files

The files needed to flash the rom They are limited to two ZIP compressed files, one with the Rom itself and the other with the latest update of the native Google applications or gapps.

Once both files are downloaded, we copy them to the internal sdcard of the Samsung Galaxy S and we restart in Recovery mode for the process of flashing the rom.

  • Mounts and storage
  • Format system, data, datadata and cache.
  • Go back again.
  • Install zip from sdcard

  • We select the zip of the rom and confirm the installation.
  • choose zip
  • We select the Gapps and confirm their installation.
  • Reboot system now.

We wait for it to restart and configure it to our liking.

Update method coming from previous versions

For previous versions it will be enough to enter the Recovery and first flash the rom and then the Google Gapps but simply with a Wipe cache partition y wipe dalvik cache from know more.

With this we will keep all our applications and data intact.

If you notice application compatibility problems or that the terminal presents forced closes of applications Clean installation is recommended by following the instructions above and starting from the Stock JVU firmware.

Hello, I have installed Jelly Bean in my Galaxy S as you have explained and everything is fine except that the SIM card does not recognize me. What I can do? For what is this?
    Thanks a greeting

The sim doesn't recognize me either! : S francisco does not report to help us !!

      1.    Francisco Ruiz said

That is that you have lost the IMEI, restore the backup copy of the EFS folder and that's it. If you have not made it go back to the JVU to see if hopefully they will recover it.

Hello, very good, I have a little problem, I copied the zip files inside my mobile but unzipped and when installing I can not there is any way to go back or install the zip to the mobile now

  8.   Ricardo said

Good Francisco, install the ROM, restore the EFS folder and the SIM still does not recognize me. And a folder was created inside the EFS folder that says lost + found.

    1.    Francisco Ruiz said

If you can't recover the EFS folder with your backup, re-flash the JVU with Odin and from that version if it doesn't restore itself, recover it with the copy and then flash the Rom again.

        2.    Francisco Ruiz said

Maybe, try flashing only the modem. In Androidsis You have a post on how to flash modems on the Galaxy S and several modems to download.

Look to see that you have not lost the IMEI. If you have lost it, you will have to restore the Backup.

    1.    VICTOR said

Hi Manuel, could you tell me if you have also had problems detecting the SIM? Have you solved it by restoring the EFS folder? It is that I have tried and there is no way. See if you can give me a clue. Thanks.

  16.   VICTOR said

I have restored the EFS folder that appears inside the backup folder of the internal sd of my galaxy and the SIM still does not detect me. What can I do, I have restored the Odin version of android 2.3.6 and I have made the copy of the ASF again but it does not work. By the way, inside the internal sd of my galaxy s i9000 in the backup folder there are 3 EFS: EFS, EFS-574, EFS-596, is it normal? I have crushed only the one that says EFS but it does not work.
