Currently, the family of devices Galaxy M Samsung has a trio of mid-range phones (Galaxy M10, M20 and M30), which are hitting the Indian market with very good acceptance among consumers.
In order to form a quartet, another terminal will be added to this set, which will be none other than the Galaxy M40, a more vitaminized model on which Wi-Fi Alliance has revealed some details, as the agency has certified it.
Samsung to expand its newest device family with the Galaxy M40
Keeping up with the latest wave of device announcements from Samsung has been challenging, to say the least. After officially announcing the long-awaited Galaxy A80 and Galaxy A20e a few days ago, it now seems that the Galaxy M40 will arrive to be at the top of its lineage.
The document describes from the certifying body an «SM-M405F / DS» phone, which clearly follows the rather obvious number convention of the Galaxy M family. Unfortunately, the page doesn't really offer much information about the device, apart from the fact that runs Android 9.0 Pie and has Wi-Fi a/c (2.4 GHz / 5 GHz). Still, we can make some guesswork on the subject of specs.
Looking at the M10, M20 and M30, it seems quite likely that the M40 will offer another incremental diagonal increase in display beyond the 6.4 inches of the M30. Also, seeing how the latter differs from a Super AMOLED panel, we expect no less for the device.
As you read some other tips from the Galaxy A and M lineups, the M40 most likely borrows the same Exynos 7904 chipset from the M30. If it turns out to be so, this would not surprise us at all.
One thing we can be sure of is that Galaxy M40 is coming soonas the Wi-Fi certification process will be done quite late in the development and release cycle of a device. Oh, and in case you've noticed the 'DS' nomenclature at the end of the model number and you're wondering what it means, it stands for 'Dual SIM'.
