We are going to analyze this beautiful smartphone from all points of view. Thus we will see clearly what we can find in each use of its parts. Starting with the lower part we find in the center the port for the power outlet and data connection. It is a port USB Type C, more current and comfortable than the previous Micro USB that many firms refuse to abandon.

What do we find inside the OUKITEL U23?

Now is the time to take a look at what we can find inside the U23. A smartphone so current and with such an attractive design does not disappoint in terms of power either. Detail that makes it even more interesting and that makes it an alternative to consider. OUKITEL continues to bet on MediaTek and to date the result has always been good.

We found the processor Helio P23, a chip that offers satisfactory results in more and more mid-range devices with high aspirations. In the following photograph taken outside in good natural light you can see a really good level of detail. The different textures that we can appreciate, as well as the difference in the tonality of the same colors make the results of quality. We can appreciate vivid and very realistic colors.

We have also been able to try the famous blur effect, professionally called bokeh. And this is what the capture mode is called in the U23's camera app. As we see in the photo, the blur it is very well achieved. And it makes the chosen image stand out beautifully in the center of the photo.

We can easily regulate the diameter to blur making it bigger or smaller depending on our needs. In the featured image a very good level of definition is observed even when enlarging the photo to the maximum. The colors are still one of its strongest points.

We have noticed a big difference between photos taken outdoors in good natural light and those taken indoors. As we know this is normal in all cameras, but even the focus motor slows too much. With close-up photos it becomes slower than expected and has a hard time focusing clearly. Still, with a little patience the photos taken are acceptable.

In the next photo, as there are objects of different sizes within the scene and all very close, that some of them come out a bit out of focus is acceptable. What's more, colors are still good and different surfaces and textures are clearly visible.

If we do photography to a more uniform object, still at the same distance the result improves. It's so much easier focus although as we say it makes us a little slow. We have even taken a photo that after viewing it denotes serious blurring. However, as the images obtained are good, we do not attach great importance to them either.

In the next photograph we see a clear example of what we mean when we say that this camera stands out in natural light. Without applying any type of filter, it is able to offer us some simply spectacular colors. With a contrast and definition that could well belong to a camera for more expensive smartphones.

Finally we have added a photograph in which only two colors appear. In it we see how the camera also behaves with solvency. It is able to offer us a good catch with a well defined silhouette. And also we perfectly appreciate all impurities and textures that appear.

Very complete camera application

We have to do a little review on the application of the camera of the U23. A camera of level improves even more if it is accompanied by enough tools and options to meet all needs of photography of every moment.

We have input with various shooting options / modes that we can select by sliding up or down. Battery that delivers to spare

We are used to OUKITEL equipping its smartphones with large batteries. A decision that for many condemns the portability of the device with excessive weights. And that for others is a point in favor even with a considerable weight gain. In this case we are facing a device with a more "common" battery.

The OUKITEL U23 has a 3.500 mAh Lithium polymer battery. A load that although a priori does not stand out for being large, we can say that it stretches more than expected. With intense use of the device we have been able to see how it is able to endure no problems more than a day and a half with up to 21% charge.

One of the things that makes this battery better is the fast charge. In less than an hour we can have the battery fully charged to keep up with the rhythm. And with about 20 minutes of charging it practically charges half from scratch. If we are in a hurry, in a moment of nothing we will have battery to end the day if we are somewhat scarce.

Furthermore, the OUKITEL U23 is compatible with wireless charging. Another extra that makes the battery section also one of its strengths. As usual, we do not have the wireless charger in the box. Software and sound

OUKITEL can boast of equipping all its devices with the latest version of android available. This has been the case at least in all the ones we have been able to test. What's more the customization layer used is very subtle and we found the operating system practically pure.

We will be able to access any available configuration without any problem. And we have verified first-hand that there is no nook and cranny within the menus in which we find a language other than the selected one.

As to separated from the sound, as we said in the description, the U23 only has one speaker. But the sound it offers in terms of power and definition has seemed quite acceptable. It sounds good at any volume level and doesn't vibrate or ruffle with treble or bass.

In this section we like to mention the 3.5mm jack headphone port removal. A decision on which we always speak out against. It is true that there are more and more wireless headphones at good prices, but we liked being able to connect our headphones. And the fact that they come with an adapter cable for this does not quite convince us.

Cons

El optical zoom of the camera is very limited. Within a camera application that is really well achieved, having only a 1.5x magnification zoom falls short.

The OUKITEL U23 looks fragile. Perhaps due to its materials it seems that it could be scratched easily with regular use (without the protective cover on). It will be necessary to see how it resists the passage of time.

In the case of a device of this firm we expected some more battery. Although it does not behave badly and stretches more than expected, its weight seems high for "only" 3,500 mAh.
