At the recently concluded Mobile World Congress 2019 in Barcelona, Oppo officially presented its 10X Lossless zoom technology on a smartphone. Several impressive samples taken with the new camera technology were also shown. Later, the vice president of OPPO hinted on his Weibo page that the smartphone with the new 10X lossless zoom feature will be unveiled in April.
On this occasion, the vice president of the company has again shared some details about the launch itinerary of the not yet known Oppo model that will house this photographic magnification technology.
The name of the smartphone is still unknown. Still, ahead of the April launch, the vice president hinted that fans will have a chance to pick up the device as soon as it launches. He hinted that the firm changed the release to April to have enough units for the first sale. Consequently, he stated that the number of phones for the first sale will be up to two million units. As a reminder, 10X optical zoom uses a periscope lens system. Although it seems that the device presented at the technology fair has a triple camera configuration, it only has two visible rear sensors: a main camera + 48 MP wide angle, both with OIS. The third lens is a prism. Therefore, the shape is not round like the others.
Light travels through the prism, where it meets about five lenses before hitting the image sensor. The camera interface comes with a slider that changes the zoom level as you slide up. In other specifications, the device is expected to include a chipset Snapdragon 855, 6 GB of RAM memory -at least- and 128 GB of internal storage space. There may be other variants of RAM and ROM. Its screen would be FullHD + of more than 6.2 inches.
