OnePlus withdraws the Always on Display function due to high battery consumption

OnePlus 6

Yesterday we reported an update that began to cause some discomfort among the followers of the company that they had bought the company's latest flagship. I'm talking about the function Always On Display, a function that keeps the screen on showing both the time and notifications, as long as the screen is OLED type.

As part of the screen is always on, battery life suffers, although depending on the use we make of our device and the number of notifications we receive, consumption may be higher. Samsung, the first manufacturer to implement this function, has managed to keep this consumption very tight, something that OnePlus has not yet managed to do with its latest terminal.

Apparently the Asian manufacturer, has not wanted to follow the tradition every time a new terminal is launched on the market and it has tried to avoid that its new terminal begins to be covered in many blogs for negative aspects that may affect its sales. Although the company has not officially confirmed the problem, there have been several users who, after contacting the manufacturer, have received an email informing them of the reason that led to the withdrawal of this function.

Despite the problems that always hit the market for new OnePlus models, the company has always quickly solved each and every one of them, although as usual, the bad image that may have been gained in this regard is usually very difficult to erase. Let's hope that it won't take long for the manufacturer to launch a new update for the OnePlus 6 that will offer this function again, a function that may for many users was more than enough reason to renew their old OnePlus.
