A representative of the brand has been in charge of announcing this movement caused by the minimum demand of the OnePlus 2 16GB, something logical if we take into account the price difference:
“Based on the feedback we've received from customers in North America and Europe, who are notably more interested in the 64GB version of the OnePlus 2, we have decided to remove the 16GB version from these stores this week. We will continue to offer the 2GB OnePlus 16 in some markets, such as India, where users are more interested in buying both OnePlus 2 models. "
The truth is that the news is not at all surprising. The OnePlus 2 does not allow to expand its memory since it does not have a micro SD card slot, so the 16 GB model is quite limited.
And if we take into account the price difference, simply it is much more profitable to buy the 64 GB model, that will surely not give storage problems in the future, to the version with 16 GB of storage.
