Following the recent launches of the Nokia 3.1 Plus and the Nokia 7.1 Plus (X7), the Finnish brand seems to be preparing a new smartphone, which is none other than the Nokia 8.1, the mobile of which we will talk to you below.
Previously, the Nokia 8 was launched last year as Nokia's first flagship phone following HMD Global's acquisition of the brand. The device received some good and bad reviews, as well as several complaints about some missing features, such as an AMOLED display, from discerning consumers. Well, the firm may renew this device with the Nokia 8.1, which would be presented shortly thanks to its recent foray into Geekbench.
Earlier this year the Nokia 8 Sirocco was launched with the same processor but with a new design, better screen, and a larger battery than the original Nokia 8. Now, a successor has appeared on Geekbench with one more decimal place in its figure, 8.1, and it seems that will not be a flagship.
The Nokia 8.1 was evaluated by the benchmark and the site reveals some of its key details. If you were expecting the Snapdragon 845 in it, you may have to wait for the Nokia 9 or perhaps a Nokia 8.1 Plus, if there is to be such a mobile, since The Nokia 8.1 runs on the Snapdragon 710, one of the latest phone processors on the market. At the same time, this upper-midrange chipset is paired with 4GB of RAM.
Geekbench also reveals that the phone runs Android 9.0 Pie as the operating system. In addition to this, it also details that it obtained 1.841 points in the single-core test and 5.807 points in the multi-core test.
This is the first time anything concrete has emerged from the Nokia 8.1 existence, so there is still a lot to look forward to. Hopefully, more details will appear in the coming weeks.
