Although the device, when held in the hands, feels quite large and especially elongated, the size does not influence a light weight. The bad thing about the plastic surface is that does not have any texture, and being smooth the traces appear immediately.

The screen of the Motorola Moto G22

One of the details that may concern us is that the screen physically protrudes from the body of the device by a few millimeters. Something that could be "deadly" for the screen itself if the mobile comes to fall down. Especially if we take into account that the Moto G22 does not include a protective case in its box as other devices of the firm do.

What is inside the Motorola Moto G22?

It's time to tell you what the Moto G22 comes equipped with to face fierce competition in the mid-range of Android devices. We have a processor also used by the manufacturer TCL for several of its devices, the MediaTek Helio G37. A processor Octa-Core 8 x 2.3 GHz with Cortex A53, 12 nm and 64 Bit architecture. The GPU chosen is the PowerVR GE832, which offers reasonable performance if we look at the price of the device, but with certain games it suffers more than necessary.

La RAM is 4 GB, somewhat scarce if we compare with other devices of the same range. Maybe we could wait for 6 GB, or another possibility of configuration and have some alternative, but it comes with only one configuration, which is combined with a 128GB storage capacity. Of course, the storage can be expanded using a Micro SD memory card.

Now it's time to talk about what for a large majority of users is a fundamental section in a new mobile, the photographic camera. Almost always, the first data that we consult before the purchase, even ahead of the physical appearance that it may have. The Moto G22 is equipped with a camera panel with four different lenses. 

We divided the camera panel into 5 elements:

• Camera principal manufactured by SAMSUNG, S5KJNI 50 Mpx with very good performance.
• Ultra Wide Angle of 112º with 8 Mpx and focal aperture of 2.2
• Spring Macro, with 2 Mpx resolution and focal length of 2.4
• lens depth, also with 2 Mpx and identical focal aperture of 2.4
• Flash LED single lamp

A pack of lenses and flash that complement each other wonderfully to offer the maximum in each photograph, obtaining very different results depending on lighting with which we have at all times. To this photographic equipment, we would have to add the front camera for selfies and video calls that arrive with a more than sufficient resolution 16 Mpx. 

The section of video Nor will it draw attention to its quality. We get recordings with 1080 quality. But we must bear in mind that movements during a recording greatly affect to the quality of the results and that stabilization is conspicuous by its absence.

As we say, the lack of lighting is one of its Achilles heels, and despite using the night mode, noise and grain are very present as soon as we have some darkness. We cannot say the same about portrait mode, what do we think really achieved in color, realism and especially in cropping what the main object software does.

The level of configuration and access to camera settings is a bit low, although we can "touch" certain settings without much problem. In addition to the most typical configurations and modes, we also have the possibility of using RAW or HDR format. And it also has face detection, touch focus, timer, panoramic photo or geotagging, among other options.

Photos taken with the Motorola Moto G22

We go abroad with the Moto G22 to see what this quad camera is capable of offering us. And as we have told you, the results between day and night are just that, day and night. Really good results with natural lighting and really bad without it.

In the first photo, shooting straight to the horizon, with good natural light on a cloudy day, we see how the elements that remain in the foreground have good definition. But as we look at those that are further away, the definition and colors lose in realism and clarity, something that is also logical.

With a closeup photo from this dandelion we see how the lens behaves wonderfully. We observe a perfect definition of textures and colors of the center object. It influences, as we have been saying, the good natural light that we have for the capture.

Here we have tested the camera of the Moto G22 making a fully backlit photo. An orientation in which absolutely all cameras suffer to obtain information and colors of objects in full light. We can see that there is some noise, but the end result is much better than we could have expected. We obtain perfect shapes and colors, something that other cameras do not come close to achieving.

The photography that everyone wants with portrait mode does not always turn out the way we want. We have been able to test cameras that do not finish offering the expected results. The camera of the Moto G22 has a very well done portrait mode. The cutout of the selected object, and the contrast it makes with the background are good.

Autonomy of the Moto G22

It is not the most important section, but it does count and a lot when we are intensive mobile users. The battery of a smartphone, and above all the autonomy that it can offer us is fundamental so that the user experience is not limited. No matter how much we use the mobile, that its autonomy does not last more than a day is very very frowned upon.

Looking at the figures, the Moto G22 comes equipped with a generous 5.000 mAh charging battery. Without a doubt, taking into account what we commented, it loads enough to be able to withstand our rhythm without problems during a full day of use. It is even capable of exceeding two days of autonomy if we make a more restrained use of the device. 

In short, and as with the other sections of this phone, it will not stand out in the market for its battery, but what it offers us is quite acceptable. We find a balance in all its aspects, something that adds up integers given the price at which we can get a Moto G22.

What we like the most, and what we like the least about the Motorola Moto G22

Pros

El screen size turns the Moto G22 into an ideal smartphone for consuming audiovisual content.

El speaker It sounds really strong, well above many other tested devices, something that joins the previous point, great for us to fully enjoy our favorite content.

La camera It surprises us for good, although with the handicap that it suffers too much from the darkness.

Cons

La screen, although good in size, it stays a little short on resolution.

The plastic materials they make the device lose in quality in terms of finishes.

As we always say, we must take into account the public towards which the device is directed. And taking into account the market sector where this Moto G22 is located, it will undoubtedly be an option to be taken into account by many potential buyers for having hit a good balance in practically all aspects.
