Motorola Droid Turbo should have been the Nexus 6

Motorola Droid Turbo (4)

El Nexus 6 is a very complete terminal, with performance that exalts it in the high-end range and a design that allows us to confuse it with the Motorola Moto X. But the size of its screen, formed by a 5.9-inch AMOLED panel, was not too funny.

Shortly after the manufacturer presented another smartphone, the Motorola Droid Turbo, a device only available through the Verizon operator and that left us speechless thanks to its features, design and screen size.

Is the Motorola Droid Turbo better than the Nexus 6?

Unboxing Nexus 6: first impressions

Regarding the design and finishes, I cannot be objective, because in that aspect everyone can have their opinion. I personally like the Motorola Turbo Droid design and especially the version with a kevlar body, although to taste the colors.

Let's start with the screen: while the Nexus 6 screen consists of a 5.9-inch AMOLED panel and a pixel density of 493ppp, the Motorola Turbo Droid integrates a 5.2-inch Super AMOLED panel with a pixel density that reaches 565ppp. . Come on what Turbo Droid screen is better than Nexus 6 and above it is not a phablet.

Processor, internal storage and RAM are on the same level. But when we talk about the camera, we enter a more unequal topic. And is that the Nexus 6 has a main camera made up of a 13 megapixel lens with optical image stabilizer.

In the case of the Motorola Turbo Droid, we find a 21 megapixel main camera and that, although it is not yet known for sure, it is very likely that it also has an optical image stabilizer and the same software options as the Motorola Moto X.

Let's move on to the battery: the Nexus 6 has a 3,220 mAh battery with a fast charging system, although the Motorola Turbo Droid has a much higher battery, which reaches the 3,900 mAh, promising an autonomy of 48 hours, in addition to including the Motorola Turbo Charger that offers an autonomy of 8 hours with just 15 minutes of charging.

The Motorola Turbo Droid is cheaper than the Nexus 6

We have the price: the Nexus 6 free costs 649 euros and, Although I have already mentioned that for now it is only available through Verizon, the operator offers the Motorola Turbo Droid free at a price of 599 euros

It is clear that Motorola Turbo Droid is better than Nexus 6 in terms of benefits, and above it is cheaper. That the Motorola Turbo Droid comes with Android 4.4.4 and the Nexus 6 already comes with Android 5.0 Lollipop? Honestly, I don't care exactly the same. Knowing the great work that the great M is doing and its update policy, I am sure that the Motorola Turbo Droid will have its share of Android 5.0 in no time.

Motorola Mexico is preparing an event for next November 5. Let us pray that he presents the Motorola Turbo Droid and offers it free, because that will mean that sooner or later it could end up arriving in Europe.

If you could buy either of the two terminals, which one would you choose? Nexus 6 or Motorola Turbo Droid?

I don't doubt it for a moment, for me, 5,9 screen. I say this after having had HTC HD2, iPhone 4, Galaxy Note and (for 1 year) a Note 3.

For me the screen is the same. The turbo droid has more ppi because it is smaller, but that does not make it better. With what is also subjective.

You also say that you don't care about the android version. Which is also subjective. I prefer lollipop, I've been testing it for a month on my nexus.

The only thing that is superior is the battery.

The camera has been shown a thousand times that more mpx does not make it a better camera and the software can use any app for management. In fact, if the drood ends up not having optical stabilization, the nexus will be much better. Finally if you spend € 600 on a droid I doubt that it will cost you € 50 more for a bigger one. They are not comparable phones since each one covers different needs for different people.

That has always been the case, since the Nexus one that competed with the HTC desire, companies have always made moves so that the Nexus is not the perfect phone. I never understood what Google was playing by selling Motorola, it would have been scary what it could have done.
