We finally have, in beta mode, previous versions of Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint for Android phones. A previous version that can lead to confusion for certain users, since one could ask to differentiate them from the one we have for a while. And simply the answer is that they are new, better-designed apps that can be updated independently.
So Microsoft, from today, has released the previews of its most important apps for office automation. These betas arrive from the channel offered by Google Play so that users can properly update the applications and can participate in the Google+ community. This will also help Microsoft improve these important applications.
Microsoft back in the ring
Like a good fighter, Microsoft is already with its gloves ready to the best combat with one of his best blows, and this is the Office office suite. An Office that returns to Android with three excellent applications: Microsoft Word, Excel and Power Point.
Three applications that arrive for seize the reign on mobile devices and their reasons have for it, since excellence in software development is incorporated, almost always, from Microsoft. If you want to participate in the beta, at the end of this post I will comment on the steps to download each of these apps.
Microsoft Word
Word is one of the most popular programs for the creation of documents, and that we were already waiting for the opportunity to put our hands on it to know what it can give to a mobile device such as a telephone.
We finally have it here, in an app that weighs 108MB and allows you to view, create and edit documents, integration with Dropbox, access to the Office 365 cloud and that brings all the flavor of what Office is to your phone when it comes to design.
We launch the application and we find a very clean interface, a mini multi-step tutorial, and the ability to access the account for syncing. Right from the start, he asks us if we want to add a Dropbox account in order to edit all the documents we have in this cloud.
Everything with a very minimalist touch and the use of flat colors without much fanfare which allows you to quickly see the most important things in the app. In this case, on the main screen, click on a new doc to go on to choose the format. We select one and we will already be creating our first document without even realizing it.
Ultimately, quite a great app that moves perfectly, without lag and that has all the tools to become one of the best in its category.
Microsoft Excel
With Excel we go to 97MB and it remains the same in the visual aspect, so we continue with the feeling of being in front of one of the best office automation suites.
Formulas, Tables, Charts, Comments, PivotTables, Sparklines, Conditional Formatting and much more awaits you in Excel for phones and tablets. Like Word, it has the same design in terms of format and has its own peculiarities to provide the user with everything necessary to create spreadsheets.
Microsoft PowerPoint
The third, and last in the suite, allows you to create slides. Follow the same premise as the other two, so do not be scared by the bulky in megabytes of the application.
The same in what is the design and the good work of Microsoft so that the application works perfectly in all its terms. Se create a PowerPoint document and you can access different formats to create slides and thus see in full screen how the presentation will be done. An application that shows what Android can do in this category.
