Lollipop is now the most used version on Android

Android distribution

Google, as it happens every month, has released Android distribution figures for March 2016, and we can finally say that Marshmallow, 6.0, begins to reap its head by increasing slightly to 2,3 percent from what it was the previous month with 1,2%. The percentage has almost doubled, as more and more manufacturers are updating to Marshmallow, as in the recent case of Sony.

The one that finally takes dominance is Android Lollipop, almost two years after it was announced in Google I / O 2014. In the figures provided by Google reveal that the adoption of Lollipop has reached 36,1 percent. This figure shows the slowness in the expansion of the new versions of Android to which we have already become accustomed, although Google continues to look for new ways.

Lollipop numbers increased from 34,1% last month to 36,1% the current month and this is when Has surpassed KitKat. And is that KitKat (Android 4.4) has fallen from 35,5% to 34,3 percent. Meanwhile, Marshmallow continues to grow slowly to double that small percentage that it had in February with 1,2%, to go to 2,3%.

Distribution

Jelly Bean (Android 4.1.x-4.3) has dropped to 22,3 percent than it was 23,9 percent last month. The other older versions like Ice Cream Sandwich and Gingerbread are still present on 2,3% and 2,6% of devices. And, Froyo, as a walker from the Walking Dead series, is still standing at 0,1%.

Marshmallow's best percentages are due to the fact that more and more manufacturers those who release the update to Android 6.0 to their phones. It was this Monday when Sony finally satisfied its users with the rollout of Android 6.0 to the Xperia Z5 series, so we will surely see better figures in the month of April.
