LG G2, how to backup EFS (ROOT) folder

LG G2, how to backup EFS (ROOT) folder

In the next tutorial I am going to teach you how to backup EFS folder in our sensational LG terminal the LG G2 in all its models and variants.

Logically, in order to make the backup copy of the EFS folder, we must have a terminal in disposal of the modified Recovery, either the TWRP or Clockwork Mod Recovery.

Why should I backup the EFS folder?

Once the Modified recovery it is essential to make the backup copy of the folder EFS, among other things because it contains data as important as the radio of our terminal, which includes unique and non-transferable data such as our number of IMEI.

This, as I say, is essential, especially if we are going to dedicate ourselves to changing Rom, since sometimes in the flashing process, lose this all-important data and that allow us, among other things, to have network connectivity.

How do I backup from TWRP?

If we have opted for the option to install this Modified recovery, in the same options of the TWRP Recovery we will find the corresponding option to save the data of the entire folder EFS. We just have to go to that option and execute it. We can find it within the options of Backup.

If you have the TWRP prior to version 2.6.3.2 you must follow the same process as with the CWM Recovery since in your version you will not find the option to EFS Backup.

How do I do it from ClockworkMod Recovery?

If you installed the CWM Recovery We will have to download this ZIP and run it just as we would to install a mod or a Cooked rom:

  • Install zip from sdcard
  • Choose Zip
  • We select the LG_G2_Backup_EFS.zip and confirm its installation.
  • Reboot system now

Now we just have to check that on the route / sdcard // EFS_Backup / we have the corresponding ZIP that contains all the data of the partition EFS our LG G2.

This check is essential to do whatever the procedure we have followed, either from the TWRP or from the CWM Recovery.

Now to finish safeguarding the data I advise you to keep a copy of the zip both in your PC as in cloud accounts as could be DropBox or similar services.

To restore the backup, just copy the zip to the sdcard And from the Recovery flash it as if it were a Cooked Rom.

Friend, the EFS recovery file I can't find it with any program to be able to remove it from the phone and save it outside of it, I only see it in moo recovery and I don't know if it is well saved because I don't know what to bring, it only comes out to install it.

Hello Francisco. after flashing a rom my g2 does not connect regularly to the computer. Could it be that the efs folder was deleted? Well, I don't see him anywhere.

I would appreciate your advice. THANK YOU…
