This is Boomerang and it will allow us take ten pictures to create a kind of animated GIF that portrays certain moments that we want to pass as a small video. This is the second attempt by Instagram after launching last year layout, another app that collects the best of its social network and tries to attract more users, ultimately, give more quality to that repertoire of apps that comes to have thanks to the inclusion of this new app.
Capturing moments in 10 photographs
The way it works is very easy. An object or something that is moving is found, we press the capture button and Boomerang will take care of taking a series of 10 photographs to put them all together in a kind of mini movie or video. Each animated GIF or video made can be shared directly to your Instagram account, Facebook and other important social networks.
This video is stored in MP4 file format and it does not capture sound, only the series of images that will be saved in this way to be able to share some more particular moments than is usually a video or the photographs that we are launching on that popular network like Instagram. Which, by the way, has been undergoing so many changes lately, such as that change in format or the inclusion of advertising in video form.
Yet another competing for GIFs
We have a great example in a company that also uses this type of videos or animated GIFs so that its users take other results when they take a series of images in a row. Google automatically creates one and allows exporting it as an animated GIF. On the other hand, we have Apple with its Live Photos, so with Boomerang we have another important one of this social networks that joins the race to provide GIFs to users who wish to do so.
