Leaked photos of the Huawei P30 Pro that have surfaced recently have revealed that it will arrive with three rear-mounted cameras. It was previously suggested that the smartphone can support 10x zoom.
Now, according to Android Central, Huawei's VP of Global Product Marketing Clement Wong has confirmed that the P30 Pro will arrive with a periscope-style zoom camera which will offer "super zoom" capabilities.
El Huawei P20 Pro last year's offered 3X optical zoom and up to 5X hybrid zoom. While Wong did not confirm the exact details of the P30 Pro's zoom, it is speculated that will offer up to 10X zoom. Huawei's CEO Richard Yu had shared a picture of the moon that was taken with the P30 Pro the week before.
The Huawei P30 Pro renders revealed that features a triple camera module in the upper left corner of the rear panel. Next to it is a 3D (Time of Flight) sensor, a laser autofocus and a dual LED flash. It is speculated that the periscope camera could be the third sensor to have a square design. Describing the photographic prowess of the P30 Pro, Wong said it will offer "something that no one has done before."
The Huawei P20 Pro was praised for its low-light photographic performance. Wong has confirmed that the P30 Pro will offer a better low light shooting experience. The Google Pixel 3 and other phones that offer impressive night photography rely on software-based algorithms.
The executive has added that the P30 Pro's night mode will be better than the competitors' software-powered approach. This indicates that the P30 Pro will be equipped with unique camera hardware.
Huawei P30 and P30 Pro smartphones are slated to be official on March 26. Both devices will be equipped with OLED displays, Kirin 980 SoC, and more. At the launch event we will know all the details of these, including their photographic sections.
