[Video] How to update LG G2 to LG's official Android Lollipop

In this new practical tutorial for all users of a LG G2 international model, better known by all as D802. I want to show you the correct way to update our sensational Android terminal to the latest version of Android Lolipop, through a custom Rom based entirely on the Official LG Rom for LG G2 Model marketed in Korean territory, the F320K model.

So now you know, if you are wanting update your LG G2 to the new official version of Android Lollipop To try all the exclusive news that this caramelized version of Andy's operating system offers us, but also you refuse to lose the modified Recovery and the Root of your Android terminal, This is undoubtedly the best way to test this LG's official Android Lollipop version cover of the Korean model of the LG G2 and that keep all LG's own apps.

[Video] How to update LG G2 to LG's official Android Lollipop

First of all, tell you that although in the video in the last step to install the SuperSU and have Root permissions, I have not been able to enter the Recovery TWRP and I thought that it had been erased in the flashing of the rom. I must tell you that the modified Recovery remains intactWhat changes is the way to enter it, now we will have to enter in the same way as before, that is, pressing at the same time Power more volume downAlthough the moment the LG logo appears and we release the buttons, when pressing them again we must press at the same time and without releasing the buttons. volume up plus volume down until we get the Hard Reset screen that has also changed in this new version of Android Lollipop from the LG G2 Korean model.

The files needed to install this custom Android Lollipop Rom based on the official LG and cover of the Korean model of the LG G2, you can download them from the following links:

  • TWRP version 2.8.4
  • Bootloader 20H for D802
  • Custom Rom Android Lollipop official LG cover of the Korean LG G2
  • SuperSu

Once all the downloaded files have been copied to the internal memory of the LG G2, remember that they must be copied as is without decompressing, We will restart the terminal in Recovery mode using the usual key combination and we will proceed to follow all the steps that I comment step by step in the video attached to the header of this article.

It is important that you follow all the steps described here and that don't skip any of themTo a large extent, following these exact instructions will depend on the good flashing of the Rom in your Android terminals. Remember that what is explained here is only valid for the international LG G2 D802 model.

It is in the tutorial, but nothing 3 times I have tried ... what is missing?

Mathias, you are an important jerk. You don't have to play with these things, you should have expected someone to make a specific port for the 806. Check out xda if someone can guide you, greetings.

How are you Francisco…. I have some doubts, a while ago I updated my LG g2 d802 with a tutorial of yours from android 4.2 to 4.4 and I used clockworkmod as recovery and everything was perfect. Later I also followed another tutorial of yours to install the mod for the camera Xdabbeb's Camera / Video. I want to update to Lollipop but first I would like you to guide me if I will not have problems first for having used another recovery before and for having installed the camera mod as well. Or I just follow your new tutorial to the letter and voila…. Thanks and regards

    1.    Francisco Ruiz said

Follow the tutorial and you will not have any problem, yes, first flash the recovery zip twrp without wipes and restart in recovery to flash bootloader, firmware and supersu.
      Regards my friend.

  14.   percy said

Thanks for your contributions Francisco I already have my lg g2 with lollipop and I will tell you that I set the zone and automatic time and I have not had any problem, this brother rom is the one I wanted to run well and so far everything is perfect

Another thing is already predefined 2g / 3g / 4g something that I did not have before

  16.   Deibys Artigas said

Is it normal for the navigation bar to be very thin? ...

  17.   Miguel said

    Good Francisco.
Once the new rom is installed I am not able to start the recovery
Pressing volume up and volume down starts the normal phone but it appears all the time in semi-transparent at the bottom left of the screen «safe mode»
If I try to press power more volume down or power more volume up it turns off again
How can I access twrp then?
The rom comes without fm radio and I would like to go back to the previous one since I use it daily.

  18.   Miguel said

Solved the recovery, I put it in case it happens to someone else.
I have installed the application "rebooter" and from it I can restart the recovery directly.
    regards

My mobile connection drops a lot, so much so that my calls are cut off, I also have unexpected reboots and some more lags than usual. I do not think that it is still suitable to be a ROM for daily use, I would not recommend it.

  20.   Sergio Martin said

I suffer from 2/3 reboots a day with this ROM. It is not stable at all. It doesn't let go directly from the lock screen, even when only scrolling is selected, to Lollipop notifications. The camera seems to have less image quality….

  21.   Carlos Alfredo Guillen Montufar said

Hi, I know you're going to scold me !!! I knew it was for the 802, but I tried to put it in my 805 but it fell into brick. Even so I was able to enter the recovery, try flashing for another model and nothing, finally I put the first model (above) and take it! I left the phone in fastboot mode, I could no longer enter recovery mode or download mode. I looked for how to restore it and I managed to even get it in download mode but it turns out that no LG software recognizes it, I have tried Ubuntu but it does not recognize it either. I have tried the Flash tool but nothing. No longer what is it like, I've been looking for a solution since Friday and I can't find anything!

    1.    Deibys Artigase said

Friend, did you solve? Does the phone turn you on at least, or does it just not do anything to you? ... I'm worried about your case ...

Wenas people I am a possessor of G2 D802 and well and installed as explained by colleague Fran and at first it went well, but over time I suffered several strange reboots xD the truth but good. I return to flase everything from the beginning to have as it goes. Xq and tried the 12 cm cyanogen and I don't like it hehe.

I've been testing it for about 3 days and at the moment it is going to perfection, the only remarkable rare thing is that during the night the wallpaper I have on goes away and in the morning I find it with the one that brings lg by default, at least 2 days of the 3 that I have been with the room, today has not happened, if the error has been corrected, otherwise it is very good and fluid, everything works perfectly, I come from cloudy and this is very good too, apart to give 41700 points in antutu, more or less the same as with cloudy
I recommend it without a doubt

    1.    Antonio jesus said

It does not do this to you that I comment, the lg logo appears but I do not have to put the pin or anything on the card and if the bottom thing happens to me too xD

  24.   Charly said

Antonio Jesus not to me, at least for now, so far only 2 out of three days the wallpaper has been removed, unless the wallpaper is removed because it restarts and I have not noticed because it has always coincided that he spent the night late while he slept

  25.   Jose said

I had the same problem as Antonio Jesus, quite often I have to say and that is why I returned to the stock rom, also there have been cases that this update has broken the download mode and it is not possible to return to the original rom through from KDZ, I do not recommend it although everyone knows what they risk.

  26.   Charly said

Tonight the same thing happened to me again. But if I have seen this time what happened ...
I was charging it and suddenly it began to vibrate every 3 or 4 seconds a short vibration, each vibration changed the screen from black to my wallpaper, and then to the wallpaper that it brings by default
The room is going great, but this has already given me a bad feeling, I think I will try to install it again and if not I will go back to cloudy that is going great too

  27.   Charly said

I must say that after uninstalling it, and reinstalling it, it has not failed again, it goes smoothly without any kind of bug or failure, if it continues like this I will leave it for a while
The same before did not install correctly for whatever reason
But I said two days and for the moment 100% perfect and everything working perfectly

  28.   Charly said

Hi I think cloudy g2 3.0 has already been released with android lollipod 5.0.1 based on room stock of the Korean version, I mean like the simple room v1.1 a little more or less but I hope with less or no bugs
Someone has tried it and can pass the download links please

3 weeks and it started to restart every time I want to use applications that use the gps

HTCMania> LG Zone> LG G2> ROMs and LG G2 development
[ROM] BKD Lollipop Final Lite 5.0.1 (D802 ONLY

I have been testing this for 5 days and I recommend it 100%
They have corrected bugs such as reboots, loss of coverage, reboots using the gps app ...
In 5 days not a single failure or restart
Coverage is luxurious, even better than with the stock 20h
The battery is very good performance, one of the best I've ever had
Fast, stable, fluid ... it goes like silk
There are two versions, one is more stock and the other has some built-in mods… a matter of taste
I have also tried the new acura, the pro2 v11.5 port of the gpro 2 with lollipod 5.0.1 and with some built-in mod, and it also goes fast and fluid and good battery consumption, without bugs or failures to highlight or loss of coverage and reboots
Either of the two is fabulous, I'm more than the first… a matter of taste
    They are both in HTCmania

I installed this three days ago and it would restart all the time and it gave me problems with the Wi-Fi connection and the data, but I reinstalled it yesterday and the truth is that it is perfect for me at the moment, and it gives another life to the mobile. I recommend it 😉

    Very bad update:

    bad miracast connection
    Restart every two by three
    Rear led loss

Friends, I have a 2GB LG G802 D32, to which I installed Lollipop a few days ago. I downloaded the official KDZ without operator marks, the Italian version and installed it with LG FlashTool 2014. It works smoothly and without major battery drain. I just had to add the APNs by hand. I hope it serves you. Greetings from Chile!.

    1.    Francisco Ruiz said

I have deleted the download link since this is a complicated way to update and that many users have left the terminal in semi-brick, being able to recover it with advanced knowledge through the Linux terminal and with a lot of effort.

      Greetings friend.

Hello! Good tutorial. I have a question I want to install cm 12 on my g2. Do you need that bootloader? and what is it for?

    1.    Francisco Ruiz said

It is not necessary since CM12 can be installed from Kit Kat which is the rom with which I suppose you will be now, if you want to install CM12 starting from official Lollipop before you will have to Downgrade to Kit Kat.

      Greetings friend.

Hello I have a problem with my LG p725, the thing is that I gave it a factory value restore and I forgot to do a Backup before: Yes and now the phone only enters the recovery mode I have normal access to the removable sd card from the recovery , Currently the rom that I had was lost was gimgerbread 2.3.6 my question is only with access to the recovery and the removable sd can I install a new rom or at least reinstall the gimgerbread if that is how the steps would be, because I understand that for install a new rom like kitkat or lolipop you have to flash change kernel and other things that I don't know if they can be done only from the recovery mode.
