How to change modem on the Samsung Galaxy S4 GT-I9500 and GT-I9505

In the following practical tutorial I am going to show you how to change the modem of our Samsung Galaxy S4 business GT-I9500 y GT-I9505.

If after changing Rom or firmware you are in the position that you have lost the signal, with this simple tutorial you will be able to regain connectivity through the simple modem flashing using a file that can be flashed from Odin.

The first thing we must do is get a modem for our geographical area and according to our terminal model:

GT-I9505 modem listing

XXUEML6 Europe

VJUBMG6 South America

GT-I9500 modem listing

UBUBMH1 Argentina, Chile

UBUAMDK Colombia

UBUBMG1 Peru

VSUBMG1 Open

XXUEMJ8 Europe

Procedure to follow

The first thing to do is download the selected modem according to our Samsung Galaxy S4 model and Odin in the version 3.04 from this same link.

Once both compressed files have been downloaded, we unzip them for example on our desktop Windows and we execute with administrator permissions Odin304.exe:

Once executed Odin Click on Phone Number and select the file of the .TAR modem, making sure that the boxes RE-Partition and Auto-Reboot are not checked:

Now we connect the Samsung Galaxy S4 with your USB cable but in mode Download using the key combination Volume down plus Home plus Power.

We click on the button Home and we wait for Odin to give us it PASS. Then we click on the button Reset of Odin and we select the modem again in the Phone box and without the RE-Partition and Auto-Reboot options being checked, we reconnect the Galaxy S4 if we had disconnected it and click on the Button again Home.

When the process finishes again and Odin give us him PASS, we can now disconnect the Samsung Galaxy S4 and restart manually by holding down the Power button for approximately seven seconds.

Once restarted, we may have to manually enter the data of our APNIf you have a problem, you can do the same process again from Odin trying another modem.

Then I leave you link to the list of official modems paw the Samsung Galaxy S4 published in XDA.

Curious that you put the image of a Nexus in the post.

Also, remember, if you use the modem of a generic operator you will be losing the optimizations that that operator has created expressly for the terminal. That is, the call establishment is generic in all networks, but each one has its optimization to save battery to each specific model. Let no one complain about a battery drain if a modem not optimized for the network to which you are going to be normally connected is used. Even more so if your terminal is 4G.

Good friend, I bought a s4 19505 from orange, Spain and I live in Venezuela, the team was all fine, the wine with the factory rom 4.2.2 and the 3g or h + got up perfect. activate the 4g even though the phone comes to raise the 4g but I never gave it importance because my operator did not work with 4g yet but one day the update came to 4.4.2 and the 3g did not pick up anymore, it only lifted the edge and I realized Now if the option to activate the 4g comes out, I have tried the thousand ways to raise 3g until I change the operator, I put a 4g chip and it does not raise the 4g either, configure everything well and nothing I got the lollipop update and the problem still persists could you help me thanks brother a hug
