How to add a new participant to a video call on Google Duo

Google Duo

In recent months, due to the coronavirus, video calling applications have experienced spectacular growth, a growth that has motivated applications / services to add new functionalities, in addition to expanding the number of participants. Although the worst of the coronavirus has already passed, Google, like the rest of the platforms, continues to work on improving its video calling platforms.

Google Duo, together with Google Meet, are the two video calling applications / services that the search giant makes available to us. Today we are talking about Google Duo, the video calling service for mobile devices that has just been updated to add a new function that allows you to add new participants during an ongoing call.

Add participants to Google Duo video calls

To add new participants to a video call that we are already maintaining in Google Duo, we must follow the steps detailed below:

  • First, from the screen where the video call options are shown, click on Add.
  • Next, the people with whom we are having the video call will be shown along with the rest of contacts from our agenda.
  • To add new people, we just have to check the corresponding box that is shown next to the contact and press Add to call.

The ability to add new people to a conversation on Google Duo is a feature that we could already find both in Skype, as in Google Meet, Zoom and others, since these services work through a link, a link that allows any user to join the conversation when it is already in development.

This new feature is available with version V105 of Google Duo, application available for download completely free of charge through the Play Store and APK Mirror.
