Google to promote apps optimized for the Indian market

During the first official conference held by Google in India, "Excellent App Summit", the company has announced the "Made for India" initiative, a plan aimed at promoting and disseminating applications specially optimized for a market like India.

As part of this new initiative, Indian developers will be able to request that their applications specifically optimized for the Indian market be displayed on a special section within the Google Play Store from India.

Made for india is a novel initiative whose main mission is to introduce Indian developers who are creating high-quality and optimized applications for the special conditions of a developing market such as India. To do this, developers must register on the website specially created for this.

Specifically, Google is paying special attention to aspects such as the innovative nature of the new applications, that make data consumption as low as possible, that the battery consumption is also optimized to the maximum, that the applications are compatible for a wide number of devices, that include support for location, that the size of the app is reduced, that connectivity is optimized.

Google's interest in the Indian market it is more than evident. On the one hand, more than 70% of internet users in India connect through their smartphones, and the number continues to grow. In fact, there are now more Android users in India than in the United States. On the other hand, every month one billion applications are installed from the Play Store, which represents a growth of 150% over the previous year. Thus, spending per user on applications has tripled in India.

During the summit at which the initiative was announced Made for India, Google has brought together more than 700 Indian app and game developers, sharing tips and tools to help them build better apps.
