Google Duo will allow us to share the screen of our smartphone

A couple of years ago, Google unveiled the company's umpteenth attempt to become an alternative to instant messaging applications, a market dominated by WhatsApp. He did it with Google Allo, an application that did not allow us to make video calls. To do so, we had to make use of Google Duo, thus expanding the number of applications to install on our device.

While Google Allo seems to have its days numbered, the application to make video calls, Google Duo, will shortly receive a new function, a function that will allow us to share the screen of our smartphone, ideal for when we want to show a photograph, a video or any other element that is only available in Our telephone.

When you click on the screen sharing option, the application will start capture everything that is shown on the screen of our smartphone sending it live to our interlocutor, so we must be careful beforehand to hide or not have very close at hand, some type of content that we do not want them to see, or out of the corner of their eye.

Meanwhile, the image of our interlocutor will be displayed in a floating window, so that we can interact with him while he observes the content that we are showing him, in case he has any questions and wants to solve them. Being a live video transmission, and taking into account that this type of transmissions requires a moderately powerful device, It goes without saying that on devices with very tight resources, this feature will likely not work directly.

In order to send the content of our screen to our interlocutor with a moderately decent quality, both terminals must be under a Wi-Fi connection, since otherwise, the resolution of the images will not be high enough to allow us to see what they are sharing with us. At the moment, we can only hope that this function arrives to see how it works and see the utility that we can get from it at all times.
