Gboard passes 500 million downloads in the Google Play Store

Reaching 500 million downloads for an app is not an easy task, since it has to become a wanted and needed by millions of users around the planet. Skype, Dropbox, Skype and many others from Google and Facebook, have reached that figure that immediately transforms them into one of the indispensable for many today.

Gboard, or what we know as Google Keyboard, has passed of the 500 million downloads. With this, it has managed to get into the select club of apps installed by millions of people, and just after it had been updated with several features, apart from changing the name of Google Keyboard to Gboard.

In the transformation from Google Keyboard to Gboard, that update brought with it one of the most notable features we have seen in a keyboard in a long time. The inclusion of the «G» button in the upper left part of the keyboard, which allows you to search from the app itself without having to relegate it to another, it was a success and therefore it has become a very special keyboard.

Gboard

Gboard also stands out for allowing the use of multiple languages at the same time, keyboard by voice, searches of GIFs (only supported in some apps) or writing with one hand. But where it distances itself from SwiftKey or others like Swype, is in the ability to perform a Google search in order to share it directly with the app in which we are. It may seem a bit curious at first, but when it starts to use it offers greater versatility and greater independence.

We will not stay in only these features, since Gboard Have to learn of some things that SwiftKey knows how to do very well, just as it has made it quite difficult for it by the inclusion of the G button.
