Facebook Messenger updates with Instant Video for floating video calls over chat

Facebook is rolling out a new version of Messenger that brings support to the instant video messaging for both Android and iOS. Called Instant Video, the new feature allows chat participants to initiate a video call, which will open in a floating window over the existing text session.

This will allow you to see your faces while using the keyboard to continue chatting, since many are still hooked on this way of communicating while video calls are left for other tasks. Logically, to be able to use this novelty, both of you must have Facebook Properly updated messenger, since otherwise it will be impossible.

The video can be started by clicking on the camera icon, right next to the voice call in the upper right part of the screen, which would previously launch a normal video call. Doing this opens a direct video source in a floating window as with floating bubbles, but on the same chat. Both of you will be able to continue chatting through text while using Instant Video.

If, for whatever reason, the update has not yet arrived on your smartphone, you can expect that the new version will be deployed in the next few days. As I have mentioned, the two participants in the chat must have their Messenger completely updated, so if your contact is not able to use Instant Video, encourage him to visit the Google Play Store to update the app.

Another of those interesting initiatives by Facebook and that is aimed at what the video is, a form of multimedia content that is becoming increasingly important and more interesting, due, in part, to the improvement of the connection with speeds that 4G allows.
