OnePlus plans to continue making a presence in the mid-range smartphone segment. With the North part, a model that launched in July and that, since then, has been classified as one of the most balanced mobile phones due to the quality-price ratio it offers, this marked a new stage in the market, moving away from its main line, which is that which is made up of the highest performance terminals, which include the OnePlus 8 and other predecessor models.
Recently the company, officially and through the voice of Pete Lau, co-founder and CEO of the same, announced that the launch date of the OnePlus 8T It is scheduled for this coming October 14, a day that, at the time of publication of this article, is located at about 12 days, just under two weeks. In turn, this news came in conjunction with something that had been rumored for several months: the next OnePlus Nord will be released.
Will the next OnePlus Nord really be a 200 euro mobile?
As we said, there is a OnePlus smartphone that you are expected to have a price tag of approximately 200 euros. When thinking about such a figure, we easily lean towards a low-performance device that, although it is becoming known as an upcoming OnePlus Nord, will not be, not even close to the same range as this other mobile, as it will be, if anything , a modest and trimmed version, with features and specifications focused on users who don't really need a spare phone.
This leaves us with the possible debut of the brand in the low range, a very interesting move that lets us see the intentions of the company that have existed since the marketing strategy that it did with the aforementioned Nord. It is noted that said mobile was the entry plate for the brand to soon solidify in other segments, but this does not mean that it will abandon its premium line of flagships, of course, since it will continue to be its strong point and to which it will most dedicate work.
In the same way, we hope that, if it is true that the new Nord has a price of around 200 euros, it will be the best in its class, as it was - or still is, for many - the Nord in the mid-range- High current, due to its great balance in terms of characteristics, technical specifications and price. The other thing that could be is that this device arrives with a higher price, thus placing itself at 300 euros, to completely separate itself from the low range that the manufacturer has not yet reached and not reduce the level of benefits so much that this usually offers. Here we have to say that the price, despite the numerous rumors and leaks that hold different theories, is merely speculative, as there is nothing official, but the figure of 200 euros is the one that sounds the most, it is worth noting.
It is said that this economical smartphone will arrive with a Snapdragon 460 processor chipset, which is eight-core and can work at a maximum clock frequency of 1.8 GHz. This SoC would not give way to a RAM memory greater than 4 GB, which is why which we also do not expect to arrive with a storage space greater than 64 GB. The battery that would match it, for its part, would be of the standard size: about 4.000 mAh or, in the best of cases, 5.000, although there is talk that there would be a 6.000 mAh battery... All this based on its possible price of 200 euros.
In terms of display, we would see the absence of AMOLED technology, in order to give prominence to the IPS LCD, which leaves us without the possibility of having functions such as Always on Display or other benefits. Another shortcoming at this point is the lack of a refresh rate above 60 Hz.
Little has been said about the camera system of this mobile on the networks. Nevertheless, we do not wait for a rear module that has fewer than three sensors, without features like optical zoom, OIS, and the like found in more expensive mobiles. In addition, in terms of design, here we can let our imagination fly a bit, but we prefer to predict an aesthetic based on a notch or hole in the screen, similar to what we see in the current OnePlus Nord.
Regarding the launch date of the phone, unlike the one already announced for the OnePlus 8T, there is no concrete data so far. In the same way, based on what the company revealed, it is close and, therefore, we wait for it to be announced soon. If the highest expectations are met, the phone would arrive together with the 8T this coming October 14; otherwise it could be in November or December, but yes or yes this year.
