Archos announces three new 7, 8 and 10-inch tablets within days of MWC 2016 with Android 6.0 and less than € 159

80 Archos Oxygen

During all these days until well into next week we are going to have a round of new devices that will bring with them the entire repertoire of components that can be accessed right now on Android. Tablets, smartphones, wearables or activity bracelets will be available these days at the Mobile World Congress and from here we will try to bring you the most interesting ones in terms of hardware quality, design and price. One of those is Archos, which just a week ago announced the Archos 50d Oxygen with a 5-inch screen, octa-core chip from MediaTek and 13 MP camera, so that today we know their intentions for what is a good repertoire in what are the largest devices that we know from tablets.

Today it has announced the 70 Oxygen, 80 Oxygen and 101b Oxygen tablets in that Oxygen series that will try to bring good quality in the components, in the design and all at a great price for what it seems to be. If we can highlight something, apart from the price of these three tablets, it is that they come with the Android 6.0 Marshmallow version by default, although in the specifications they are quite basic. All three models use a quad-core or quad-core MediaTek chip clocked at 1.3 GHz and 2 GB of RAM, which are the two components that will make that Marshmallow work perfectly. Three tablets that we will see make the round from its stand at the Mobile World Congress next week and that it will be interesting to see them in situ.

Three tablets at the right price

Another of the highlights of these Archos tablets is that they do not climb the vine and they present prices on par with the components they have in their hardware. It would not be the first time that we have seen certain products from various brands that command higher prices than they really are. Fortunately, this does not happen with Archos to bring us three products that can be purchased for € 99 for 70 Oxygen, € 129 for 80 Oxygen and € 159 for 101b Oxygen.

The specific chip is the MediaTek 8163A quad-core clocked at 1.3 GHz and which is accompanied by 2 GB of RAM. On the side of the camera 5 MP on the back and a 2 megapixel on the front camera. They are tablets that are based on Wi-Fi connectivity and an aluminum back that offers a great visual appearance.

70 Archos Oxygen

All three use a 16 GB internal memory without really knowing if it offers support for a micro SD slot to be able to expand the internal storage, something vital today for a product of this type. Those 16GB of internal storage can come very short with a Marshmallow. The two smaller tablets, the 70 and 80 Oxygen, use a resolution of 1920 x 1200 16:10 IPS, while the larger one, the 101b, has a bit more screen resolution with 1920 x 1280.

In the part of the battery they reach 3.000 mAh, 4.500 mAh and 6.000 mAh in that respective order from smallest to largest size on the screen. Of course, they stand out for a very thin thickness of 8 millimeters.

Specifications of the three tablets

  • 70 Oxygen: 7-inch (1920 x 1200 pixels) IPS screen and 3.000 mAh battery
