Everything you need to know to watch TV on Android

Watch TV on Android

Since there are smartphones, something we like is having the ability to play multimedia content on them. Among this multimedia content we have music, something that we could already listen to since before the appearance of smartphones themselves, movies or, what this post is about, watch TV online for free and in Spanish. Is this possible? The short and simple answer is a simple yes. The long answer is also yes, but pulling from applications, web pages and even external devices.

In this post we will teach you everything you need to be able to watch television on an Android device. It is likely that among the information that we will provide below there is a lot that you already knew, but not all users have the same knowledge and surely that even that information is useful to someone. We leave you with these little and not so little tips for watching TV on Android.

How to watch TV on Android

Android TV and Google Play

Thanks to the opening of Google's mobile operating system, watch TV on Android it is possible in many and varied ways. The simplest thing will be to use applications from the Google Play Store, but it is also possible to view this content from some web pages and even using an external DTT. We will comment on the latter as information, but it is not the best in the vast majority of cases.

It also seems important to mention that the points included below have come from queries that you have made us, so we have written them almost as is, although many of the solutions are the same as in other points. With this explained, it is worth reading the entire post to make sure that you do not stop reading exactly what interests you the most.

Apps to watch live TV for free on Android

Of these we will have many but, as in the case of TVE, I think that to watch live TV with guarantees it is worth doing it before from official applications. Among these applications we will have that of TVE, added in the following point, and the following:

Mitele - TV on demand
Mitele - TV on demand
Developer: Mediaset Spain
Price: Free
RTVE clan
RTVE clan
Price: Free
atresplayer: Series, Movies
atresplayer: Series, Movies
Developer: Atresmedia
Price: Free

With the previous three and with the one in the next point, I think we would have already covered the main channels in Spain. But I am aware that Spain is not the only country in the world, so I will also have to add more alternatives. One piece of advice that can work all over the world is to look for official applications as I have done with the main channels in Spain. On the other hand, there are also other interesting applications such as the following:

Kodi

Kodi is the media player we like the most, but the downside is that it is not easy to take advantage of it. To start, we can always read our post How to use Kodi, the most complete Android media player. As you can see, you can see channels of all kinds and from all over the world, but you have to get down to work to achieve it.

Developer: What Foundation

Zattoo

If we are looking for an application to watch TV that complies and does not make it very difficult for us, Zattoo is also worth it. The bad thing I see is that to watch some channels you have to pay, but at least we can watch free television that is available in our country.

The app was not found in the store. 🙁

wiseplay

Wiseplay is also a very powerful application that will allow us load Wiseplay or M3U lists. The problems that we will find will be that we will have to look for the lists to make it work but, once found, it is worth it. What Wiseplay offers us is like what pages like LaTeLeTe.Tv offer us, but with the big difference that we will not depend on the browser and Flash, which usually means that we will be moving through a slow page. I have been using Wiseplay for a long time and I liked it so much that I even paid for the Pro version.

You will also need download lists WisePlay 2017 or subsequent years. You will find them in the link that we have just left you.

Live Spanish television for Android

TVE Android

If what we are interested in seeing is the TVE, it is not worth it that we complicate ourselves. Radio Televisión Española has its own free application in the Google Play Store, so what's the point of looking for alternatives? In this post we already have many alternatives, both in the form of a third-party application and in the form of web pages, but none of them will work as well as an official application that guarantees its availability and operation without interruptions.

The app was not found in the store. 🙁

See Spain DTT on Android

This consultation is one of the most tricky, as long as what you want is intercept a real DTT signal. If this is not the case because you have an internet connection, we can see points like those of Apps to watch live TV on Android or the next, Websites to watch television online. If you do not have internet and we would like to watch TV from a DTT signal, what you will have to do is look at the last point of this post, but notice that it will be necessary to buy an external device to be able to tune in to DTT , something that I do not recommend either because I have tried several antennas and, if we are not close to a city, the most we will be able to see are 5 or 6 of the least interesting channels ... unless the receiver can be connected to a wall antenna.

Websites to watch television online

I have not put it first, but perhaps this is the most interesting point to be able to watch television on Android. Technically, it can be the most interesting on any device that can run a Flash-enabled web browser. As I just mentioned, the secret is to watch television from a web browser, so it only remains to know or know web pages to watch TV online, such as the following:

LaTeLeTe.Tv

LaTeLeTe.Tv

Look at the name: this website is "latelete.tv", not "latele.tv" as some users look for. If we try to access the second website, what we will do is access a website that is waiting for someone to buy the domain; If we access the first one, we will be accessing one of the best websites to watch television online. LaTeLeTe.Tv, available from here, has a total of, if the accounts do not fail me and if they have not put any duplicates, 112 Spanish channels available.

Of course, it must be borne in mind that these web pages live on advertising, so, as in all similar web pages, it is likely that we have to be playing "click the X" from time to time, that is, close the advertising that appears on the screen. We also have to take into account that it is likely that some channel is down, but that can also happen in any unofficial application to watch live television.

Other pages to watch live TV

In order not to lengthen this post too much, below I will add several links to several of the best websites to watch live television from any device with a Flash Player compatible web browser:

Of the five previous web pages we can say the same as of LaTeLeTe.Tv: we can find a lot of publicity, with not fluent broadcasts and with some dropped channels, although these websites usually add a new link as soon as they find out that the they were using.

Application to watch TV on Android without Internet

D-Link DWM-T100

As I have already explained, I am going to comment on this point a bit above because there is a possibility, although it is the most complicated and, probably, the most expensive. The first thing is to make it clear that there is no app to watch TV without internetBut the openness of Android allows virtually any manufacturer or developer to create products that are compatible with Google's mobile operating system. As for DTT, we can buy a tuner that we will connect to our Android device so that it receives the real DTT signal, that is, the same signal that conventional televisions receive.

An example is the D-Link DWM-T100, what we could describe as a adapter so that the DTT signal can enter to our Android device. This device has its own antenna that we will connect to the opposite end to the one that we will connect to the Android device. In this small port we can connect all kinds of antennas, from a small one like a radio to a cable like a TV, which means that we could connect our Android device to the wall as if it were a TV and watch the same channels that we would see on our television. This would be especially good for us if we traveled to an area without internet or a TV, but with a wall socket.

Each of the DTT receivers that we find will arrive with its own software to be able to watch television, otherwise how could we watch it? In the same container in which the receiver arrives, the instructions will also arrive to be able to watch TV, which usually translates into downloading the application that they tell us, either from the Google Play Store or from a web page that they provide us, something they can also do using a QR code. As I said, it can be effective, but also complicated and more expensive. In fact, the D-Link proposal came on the market with a price of about € 50.
