Android Q allows access to stored Wi-Fi network passwords without root

Android Q

Routers and modems in recent years have received a large number of functions, functions that for more modern models, allow us to manage it through a mobile application, which will avoid that we have to use the interface through a team, an interface that in most cases is designed for people with knowledge.

Surely on more than one occasion, you have visited a friend, you are in a cafeteria or in a workplace and you want to connect to the Wi-Fi network. In 90% of cases, users who are already connected do not remember it and have no way to access it, unless they root their devices, at least until Android Q.

Whenever we have been forced to know the password of the network to which we are connected, we were restricted by the operating system itself, since as I have commented, the only way to do it was if we had access to the system. However, with Android Q that has changed, since from the terminal itself, we will be able to have access to passwords.

know Wifi password without being root

To be able to access the passwords of the Wi-Fi networks that we have stored in our terminal, we just have to go to the Settings and click on the Wi-Fi network in which we are connected or one of those that we have previously connected. At that time, the system It will ask us for the PIN code of the terminal or that we confirm our identity through the fingerprint sensor.

At that moment, A QR code will be displayed, accompanied by the password. If we want our friend or family member to automatically connect to our Wi-Fi, all they have to do is scan the QR code and their terminal will connect without having to enter the password at any time.

If we want to do the process manually, we can also do it since the password is displayed just below the QR code. This QR functionality was added with the release of the first Android Q beta, but it was not until the launch of the third beta, when the password in plain text was added.
