Android 7.1 has appeared on the Google Pixel with a series of features that we already reviewed two weeks ago with the Big G phone exclusives, and a week ago when it was presented. It was in that last news where it was said when it would arrive approximately throughout this month.
Today the Android 7.1 developer preview for the Nexus 6P, 5X and Pixel C. The preview can be accessed from the Android Beta Program page for you to download and test. A version 7.1 that is supposed to be available in the month of December.
Android 7.1 includes a series of new features, although the vast majority are related to the exclusivities with the Pixel, and on the other hand logical (even the Nexus had them although in the minority). The Android 7.1 Nougat developer preview comes with the launcher shortcuts, round icons and keyboard image support and access to free up space on the mobile device.
But, the most interesting are the API changes that will allow developers to update their apps to include some of the most striking aspects of Android Nougat. Nova Launcher and another series of apps will be the ones that bring us these changes in the form of new features to make their apps more attractive.
You can participate in the Android Beta program to get the developer preview or take the system images from this link to flash them manually. It should also be remembered that, being under a developer preview, it may happen that have bugs and lack of performance, so you are already more than warned.
Google has stated that it will extend the support more devices for the month of November. For the final version you have to wait for the month of December.
