In recent years, Amazon, the largest online seller of products in the world, has engaged in different wars with the greats of the technology industry. A few years ago, Amazon stopped selling Apple TV in its online store because the Prime Video application was not available natively on the 3rd generation Apple TV.
A little less than a year ago, Amazon and Apple signed the peace agreement and Apple began to be able to sell all its products directly through Amazon. So far, all Apple products sold were from third parties, not from Apple itself. The war between Apple and Amazon also affected Google, who nor you could sell your Chromecasts directly through Amazon.
At the end of 2017, Google did not allow the YouTube app to be available on Amazon's Fire Stick, Amazon's streaming video device. Amazon, neither short nor lazy, spoke with the Mozilla Foundation and reached an agreement so that the entire YouTube catalog could be accessed through Firefox.
This war, what only harmed users seems to have ended, and soon we will be able to enjoy Amazon Prime Video through Chromecast or through our television with Android TV.
This agreement also marks the return of the YouTube application to the Amazon Fire Stick, one of the shortcomings that may have affected sales of the Amazon set-top box, although it was partially solved using the Firefox browser.
In the announcement of the agreement, it is ensured that both YouTube and YouTube Kids will arrive on the Fire Stick platform before the end of the year. At the moment, we do not know when Amazon Prime Video will be available in the models of televisions managed by Android TV that do not enjoy it or the compatibility with Chromecast, but it should not take long.
