Practically every day, our colleague Paco publishes a new video on our YouTube channel, where we show you new applications, terminal reviews, tutorials, curiosities… Yesterday we published a video about a weather application called Weather Forecast Pro, a completely free application that It seemed to be a real blast, at least initially.
However, as the hours have passed since the video was published, many users have informed us that the application in question was a nest of malware. We have quickly proceeded to check it through Virus Total and to our surprise they were right and how to rectify it is wise, below we explain the reason why it should not be installed in any case.
If we do a search in the Play Store with the terms Weather Forecast Pro, we find different results to the search. Of all the available options the app we are talking about is signed by Howar Jran. This application, which usually has a price of 2,19 euros, is currently available in promotion and we can download it completely free of charge.
After downloading the apk, we have run them through Virus Total to check if their code included any kind of malware, Trojan horse and more. Unfortunately this is the case, specifically Virus Total has detected up to 10 dangerous elements that can put the security of our smartphone at risk.
The first thing we must do if we install the application is to delete it directly from our terminal. Next, and to prevent other people from being affected by these types of applications, which are not the only thing they do to increase the bad reputation of Android in terms of security, is to go to the Play Store and Report the app for the Google guys to investigate.
This developer also has several music application applications in the Play Store, although we do not know if these are also a source of malware that drives our smartphone crazy by continually opening ads automatically.
Hello, the app daily weather pro (weather Live Pro) signed by
does talendroidteam have malware too?
Analyze it by downloading the total virus app from the Google Play Store. I see it a bit suspicious for the sole reason that it is no longer available in the Google Play Store, although that is not enough reason to draw the conclusion that it is a malicious app.
