If yesterday I shared with all of you the new WhatsApp apk 2.12.45 with the supposed added functionality of being able to save our backups directly in our Drive account, the reality is that at the moment and due to the type of failure, this new functionality of WhatsApp backup to Drive not working yet.
In principle, the action of making a backup copy of our chats and multimedia content seems to work perfectly from the new option integrated in the settings of WhatsApp version 2.12.45, although at the moment of truth, when you open your Google Drive account, the new WhatsApp folder does not appear, which should initially contain the backup copy of our WhatsApp account.
For this reason, it is surely the decision of have removed version 2.12.45 from the official WhatsApp download page, a version that was only available for download from the WhatsApp page itself for just a few hours.
And then where has my WhatsApp backup gone?
Many people are asking this question after trying the new WhatsApp functionality that allows us to use our Drive account to save the aforementioned backup copies or Backups, and that is still being able to do the process from WhatsApp and it reports it to us as what everything has been done correctly, when push comes to shove, this new folder does not appear in our online Google Drive account.
The most normal thing is that version 2.12.45 have some kind of problem, hence the removal of the apk from the official WhatsApp site, and although the application has given us the report or message that the backup has been made correctly in our Drive account, it has not been done correctly or even may have been left in the upload queue until the WhatsApp developers fix the problem.
All users who have activated this new option create WhatsApp backup directly in Drive, among which I myself am affected, that they know that as soon as WhatsApp finds a solution to this problem and they finish enabling the service as it should, an n will automatically appear to all of usNew folder in our Drive associated account with the name of WhatsApp in which we can find the backup copy of all the chats of our WhatsApp account.
From here Androidsis we will be up to date at solution of this problem with the synchronization of Drive and WhatsApp and as soon as we know of any news we will keep you immediately informed about it. In the meantime, don't forget to make the backup locally, as we were used to until now.
The copy completes very slowly, but it is done. The files are not visible because they are apparently hidden. If you look at the option of connected services you will see the size they occupy and the warning that they are hidden.
I forgot to comment that version 2.12.45 is published on the APKMirror website (http://www.apkmirror.com/?s=whatsapp), and I don't remember seeing it on the WhatsApp website.
And where do I find the CONNECTED SERVICES option? Thanks in advance.
